Lack of goals

It's not just playing 2 strikers, it's creating space and exploiting it at pace. Everything that's been missing from our game for the last 80 matches.
Should have had 5 or 6 today. Keep creating chances like that for Soldado and he'll soon regain his form.
We have a squad full of attacking talent, trust them to play without one hand tied behind their backs.

This. Roberto hasn't scored a Premier League goal since October (495 minutes since his penalty against Hull and 596 minutes since he scored his one Premier League goal from open play) so no wonder his confidence is a bit short and he is snatching at chances he might otherwise have slotted home.

Hopefully Sherwood persists in playing our more talented passers in midfield and Ade can be the beast of a #10 that he was for Redknapp so Soldado will return to the form which saw him score 59 goals in 101 La Liga games for Valencia [-o<

It wasn't so much two strikers but more the way Ade and Soldado worked their defence. Very impressed with the movement they showed. So long as people get into the right positions to create options we could get away with one striker and another two/three players supporting, that's the reason for how poor we have been, no one was making the options before today

You saw two players who can move, run, supply or be on the end of supply.

Really felt the way those two played, had any of Siggy/Lamela/Eriksen had a decent game, we could have killed off the game with some ease.

When Ade scored it had apparently been 665 minutes since our last PL goal from a striker.

Not entirely surprising considering our strikers' poor scoring rates in the Premier League over the previous 55 matches / 17 months...

Defoe: 254 minutes per goal (compared to 166 mins per goal over the previous 6 seasons)
Soldado: 276 minutes per goal
Adebayor: 328 minutes per goal (compared to 163 mins per goal over the previous 6 seasons)
