The players we've bought from the prem seem to be our biggest disappointments at the moment.
Yes because we can't buy the very top of the pile in terms of of PL players. They either already play for one of the top teams or when they prove themselves able to, one of our rivals who have bigger wallets and bigger ambitions go for them.

I find the idea of prioritising PL targets to be a fairly limiting pool of players to pull from. If we can't sign an Isak and are limited to the Richarlison's and Solanke's tbh then I don't think it's a good long term strategy.
 
Interesting, who are you thinking of specifically? Not necessarily disagreeing (or agreeing!) just interested in more context/detail...

Prem teams don't need to sell as they have a lot of money. So you have to pay big money for them. We'd get better value buying from europe.

McAtee would be a bit different, as he'd be moving down not up the food chain. He's also younger than all the above were. His main issue is just that he's got Foden in front of him
