He only has a year left on his contract and doesn't want to sign a new one due to lack of playing time. Guardiola knows that he will be unlikely to play many games for them next season due to their abundance of quality so selling him now is the right thing to do.

Potential issue I can see is that I suspect Emirates Marketing Project will want to insert a buy-back as part of the deal. I doubt we would agree to that, whereas a club like Nottingham Forest may well do.

Later in the window they'll probably have to drop that compared to losing him for nothing, so we'd maybe just need to buy our time and tell him to stall with Frankfurt and Forest etc.

We could perhaps instead agree a reasonable sell on fee (30% of the transfer fee profit) if he moves in the next 4 years or something like that. In theory that would give Emirates Marketing Project a bit of a discount if they wanted to buy him back at market rate should he end up really successful.

Joshua Kimmich. Would be transformational for our team IMO. If I were Frank I would be in Levy/Lange's ear constantly telling them how paying £350,000 or even £400,000 a week for him on a free transfer would represent great value for Spurs.

I think Maddison is underrated by a number of Spurs fans. I think he has been a big success for us. I'd say that Johnson has also been a big success for us. Solanke did pretty well, playing a difficult role. Bissouma and Richarlison have been somewhat disappointing but not terrible.... With Richarlison's main issue being how many matches he has missed.

It's not to say they are all useless but they aren't too players and if we want to win things and achieve goals we need top players not ok ones.
