No it counts when you buy the type of player I was discussing. How is a an 18 year Bergvall that? How is a 16 year old Vuskovic. I literally said I don't mind the speculative punts buts I like the idea of also signing players ready to go right now. We're the players you listed ready? No they weren't. There is a zone between developing players and established starter and that's the market we have not shopped in for years.I KNEW you'd come up with some gonads like that! Hahaha! Absolute gold! Filled my "what's he's going to say" bingo bord in no time.
Of course it's not what you were talking about. Because it doesn't count when we do it. It only counts against Spurs when some other team finds one of 10 that works out, and we should obviously have signed that player.
Ekitite would have been that player, Isak was that player, Daka would have been that player. So it's even about them being successful it's about their profiles. You seem to only know players in a very black or white manner.
Right now Balogun would be this kind of player whereas Lankshear was not. I'm taking about players who have a number of seasons of actually performing for whom there is a potential massive upside. The players you selected are of a different category. They are young players who have development time ahead of them. I'm talking about players ready to go.
Examples of players we have signed in the mould i'm talking about.
Modric - seen as a talent, but physicality uncertain.
Berbatov - again a alent, a good striker had multiple seasons scoring goals. Proven, but not rated as highly as he was later.
Ndombele - a mercurial talent that was considered a possible great but had some questionable history
Lamela - again seen as a talent but not one the big teams felt worth buying.
Vertoghen - a talent, but unproven at the top level.
Eriksen - rated but though to lack the bits to get to the very top of the game.
Do you now see the profile of player in talking about? It's not a question if whether they were successful or, I'm talking about the profile of requirement. If not, do you seriously think that Vuskovic was of the same profile and career status as Modric was when we bought both of them? Is Yang comparable in career achievements at the same time purchased as Son? If your answer is yes then I'm sorry you don't actually pay enough attention to football outside of the PL.
Again I'm not talking about the pints because I'm absolutely fine with them. We should be signing punts. It's a great market to be in, but there is also a market between punt and top level established like Tonali.
If we had Fernandes from Southampton then he would fit into that category but buying him a year later from West Ham for £85m then moves him out of the undervalued category.
