when is the last time jay rodriguez kicked a football competitively at a high level? if we ended the summer with him as the only forward we signed. I'd be seriously disappointed.
 
Can we start transfer rumours for posters? Even if they are false rumours, they may bring some positivity to the forum...
 
I do hope we are in for Bale in the summer. Townsend needs some decent competition for his place in the team. Seeing Bale on the bench might just be the motivation Andros needs to finally perform

Sources report that Pochettino last night conducted in depth transfer discussions with summer transfer target Papercut. There will be takers for our squad players, there always is.

Most of the players we offload aren't useless at all, they simply don't fit the system or just better off at a level below or just somewhere they're playing in week in week out...
 
The problem is the timing of te sales

We need rid of the players we don't quickly so we can buy quickly and get the players integrated

We have never done that in the premier league era iirc hence why we start of with a mish mash of square pegs

But unless you are a Chelsea/Emirates Marketing Project etc this is the problem for every team. There isn't much movement at all until the final few days of the window...

Hence why it is a problem. We either speculate on who we can sell and what for and buy accordingly or we wait and see.

Chelsea hit the ground running this season as they brought the right type of players early within their budgets. They sold players afterward

We need to do that or we risk yet again being left with too much dead wood

Only difference being that their rejects go to top CL teams able to cover the transfer fee and wages; ours don't

No it's not as simple as that though. Because you have your top targets but then a lot of those will go because the big boys will end up swooping in for them, it's not like we don't try. So you have to wait until the big boys have got their main bits out of the way and see what's left. We're not the only big team that does it so you can't just say it's Levy and his brinksmanship.

It all sounds wonderful and nice and easy with your idea, but it's pretty clear in reality it's a lot more complicated....

Doesn't always have to be like that. We signed Modric early enough, didn't we? There will be other opportunities ahead to complete similar deals
