Open up a separate sub forum 'Transfer news and views', stick all of the threads for players we are linked to, or are linked away and let it play out in it's own section.


Only really works if you do it at the start of the window though, and if everyone understands whats going on.

Let's not have another navel gazing thread discussing how we should or shouldn't moderate GG. If you need to get up to speed read the Farewell GG thread and comment in there. This thread is for Remy and off topic posts from hereon in will be deleted :twisted:

Why do we feel the need to merge everything into one big unreadable thread, like scara says, keep the rumours for the transfer thread and discuss individual players in a seperate thread.

As for Remy, he looks like a decent signing, haven't seen much of him but he looks like a confident lad with a decent finish on him. Do people see him playing alongside Ade or the two of them fighting it out up top?

This is a thread about a player we're apparently very close to signing - not some random FM/twitter name

If you don't like it - you don't have to participate

Better to discuss a player that we're hotly linked to rather than getting it mixed up in the transfer rumour thread, IMO.

Or should we just please the thread Nazis and make an ***Official Spurs transfer rumour, player, formation, tactics thread*** for everyone to get lost in? Nah.

Think Dembele will be fine as the driving force. Quick and will go past people on the counter, then lay it off to ade/bale/lennon and they can go past the last man..

For what's its worth I really think threads like this give a very false impression. Posters who haven't logged in throughout the day will instantly feel remy has officially signed when they see a remy thread that's the top topic on the forum. In actual fact there is no solid news bar a Ssn report. No agent quotes, no quotes from us except denying we've even flown to France.
 
The irony of all this is, YOU lot who moan about threads are the ones who make them what they are.

IF you could self-moderate, and stick to the principles, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

And don't forget, at the start of the transfer window, we actually had seperate threads for transfer ITK posts, and transfer discussion, but it was hounded out as un-workable by the majority (or was it the vocal minority?).

Interestingly, that system seems to work perfectly fine over on the fightingco(k forum.
The ITK thread has ITK in it & the discussion thread has discussion in it. Revolutionary thinking.
 
Maybe in Jan try having the rumour thread managed by and only updateable by the mods so that people can use it as a reference point and with each rumour you could put a link to the thread of that rumour and keep each rumour in their own threads? Sounds more complex than it is - people would read the rumour thread in January and see a rumour they thought they wanted to comment on then click the link to the thread containing all of that players rumours - players like remy would have threads which were kept alive throughout the window whereas silly rumours like Anderson et al would drop off of the front page as people wouldn't give rumours like that the same amount of their time... Just an idea for next time as the Jan window is only a months worth so good for a trial period for trying something different imo
