Davinson Sanchez

Will probably be on the bench. With Davies and Trippier not the most attacking or fastest full backs, not sure 3 at the back is what we need - unless Sanchez can stride through the middle! Burnley will try and copy chavski no doubt. We need to stretch the game using the flanks more.

Made his debut pretty quickly after becoming a Spurs player. Shame it coincided with our collective brainfart at the end.

All I saw from him was him, was he ran forward while the rest of defensive line were 30 yards back.
But we will forgive him.
He past Trippier twice, once going forward and again coming back ;)

Barcelona have been desperately searching for defensive reinforcements this summer so it came as a huge surprise when the Catalan giants let Colombian star Davinson Sanchez slip through the net as the 21-year-old arrived in North London to join Tottenham Hotspur.

The youngster was on Barca’s radar all last season and was quick to state his desire to head to the Camp Nou this summer after an excellent campaign with Ajax. Spanish portal Don Balon quotes the player however, who was asked in a recent interview why he snubbed a move to La Liga for the Premier League and he was frank in his reply, stating that;

“Fortunately, I took a decision without considering marketing opportunities. Barcelona has always been an elite club but the conditions under which I was going to arrive were never specified, their approach was not the best”.

Barca’s loss looks to be Spurs’ gain however, and now boss Mauricio Pochettino has one of world’s most promising defenders at his disposal.

LIONEL MESSI was keen for Barcelona to sign Tottenham new boy Davinson Sanchez.

However, he didn’t push for the deal to get done out of loyalty to Javier Mascherano.

That’s according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon who reckon Messi wants Ernensto Valverde to bolster his back line.

But his close links with former Liverpool and West Ham star Mascherano muddied the waters.

Barca eventually missed out on Sanchez to Spurs earlier this month - and it could cost them.

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

Having been snapped up from Colombian outfit Atletico National he flourished at Ajax and made 32 appearances for the Dutch heavyweights.

Spurs boss Maurico Pochettino spotted his potential and coughed up around £42m to bring him to north London.

Sounds like Messi is running things in Barca now.

Sounds like Messi is running things in Barca now.

Now? despite the fanboy tossfest re Messi, there have been a lot of stories re his "influencing" decisions for some time now, and not always in a good way.

Regardless, if Barca was really looking at this guy (despite obvious Paulinho joke), it means we probably got decent potential with Sanchez

looking forward to seeing him starting for us very soon. Beast of a player, string and with bags of pace. He's physically prepared for the Premier League.

Surely a foul though, no?? No intention of playing the ball, wasn't in possession to begin with. Wasnt "shielding it" from opponent. Just a blatant barge off the ball?
