Barton gets record ban - 12 games

QPR?s furious chiefs wanted to punish Joey Barton with a fine of close to ?1MILLION over his now infamous meltdown at Emirates Marketing Project.

The ?70,000-a-week midfielder was only rescued from losing three months? money because the players' union, the PFA, stepped in.
Barton would otherwise have been hit with a staggering ?840,000 penalty.

As it is, he has been docked six weeks? wages - ?420,000 - and stripped of the captaincy over his sending-off and subsequent actions during the final game of the season last month.

Barton has also accepted he will be sacked on the spot should he shame QPR and manager Mark Hughes again.
 
Why not just fine him ?2m QPR ? Why stop there ? You fudging loonatics are just as bad as him.

I'd like to know where the ?420,000 is going.

open your eyes mate. the post above yours explains that the PFA stepped in to mitigate any type of 'excessive' fine.

for what it's worth, i agree that no punishment would be too great for the c*nt, but alas, they are a protected species.

if i were QPR i would be doing everything in my power to sell him to the championship and let him rot.
 
He posted it himself on twitter and was laughing about it. He also said that it was deliberate as the French journo's have been struggling to understand his Scouse accent, so he adopted a French accent a la Allo' Allo' to help...

Barton is a massive bell end. While he might get a giggle out of this I think it is massively disrespectful.
I would be delighted never to hear another word about or from this toss stain ever again.
