You’re entitled to your view. And I actually agree with your core point 100%. But there is no need to call the guy “a piece of brick”. It’s unnecessary. He’s landed in a job that, IMO, he doesn’t have the ability to do well. He hasn’t killed anyone. Dunno why people can’t articulate their point without resorting to nasty insults. Doesn’t reflect well on anyone.
I call a spade a spade. I thought my description was spot on

I disagree but I think the point Finney's making isn't unreasonable. He wants the club to win trophies more than anything else: if a manager can deliver that every other year, he believes it's worth retaining him, since there's no guarantee the next guy would be able to do so with the resources available at the club (if I understood correctly). And, to Postecoglou's credit, he went far if not close in the League Cup too.

Where I disagree is that he didn't get a shot at winning the EL because he's a better manager than any of those who came before him, but simply because he was allowed to completely throw away the league.

I used to play Magic when I was a young adult and they used to release cards who looked very powerful - and they were, under certain circumstances. 95% of the time, they were completely useless though but every once in a while, when everything else went right, they were game-changers. That's Postecoglou for me. Everything went right for him and maybe he'll win us something. But every Magic player I knew quickly turned away from those cards: there's already an element of luck in any game and you don't want to amplify that with something that will only work every once in a blue moon.
There are those who claim they would be happy to finish 17th and win a trophy. Well, this year it could happen, even though I believe we will lose the final. I don't agree with that sentiment. I had a season ticket for 20 years, but I now attend about six games a year, which costs me in total about £200 a game. Why should people be spending all this time and money to watch rubbish football and see their team lose?

Other than the first ten games of last season I have hated the football this manager has served up, and to be honest I find the man rude and obnoxious. He says he takes responsibility for the results then blames every other factor. He blamed all the injuries, but when the players came back and we continued to lose, but he conveniently shut up. I am desperate to see this man leave, and I honestly think he is the worst manager the prem has ever seen

For years and years, football fans (not just of Spurs) have complained that clubs dropping down to the EL from the CL is unfair, rewards failure, and devalues the EL itself. Now it no longer happens and just as we reach its Final we have some of our own fans complaining well, it's a weak competition anyway - implying it's no great achievement.
Fans will forever be fickle.

Some of our fans will always complain. They enjoy it.
I'm going to hopefully enjoy the final and celebrate winning.

I agree to an extent and yes football fans are fickle , always have and always will be.

Reading a lot of the posts I think it’s more to do with some are giving Ange plaudits for getting to this final. Yes it’s great to get to a final , however the quality of the comp has diminished there’s no doubt about it. We have played against a poor level of oppo for the most part.

As Bedford pointed out early we should be winning it due to the fact of the quality or lack there of.

As quite a few have pointed out yes Ange has set us up to win in certain European games and takes credit but apart from Frankfurt we have played 3rd rate sides that we should be beating.

At league level against top level sides he’s found wanting. Europa he seems to have found his level.

He is out of his depth and winning this pot should not see him stay.

99.9% of it is just assessment of our season, it not complaining.

I think the EL us a weaker comp than the PL, thats not a complaint

I'm chomping at the bit to win it

It's not complaining though is it, it's called having a conversation.

Saying a comp is weaker than the PL isn't a complaint it's just context on a subject based on a forum

Everyone has said they will love to win it also

I agree it's weaker. Calling it a tin pot though and saying you wouldn't celebrate it? Nah sorry. It's a trophy that i will celebrate if we win.

At the same time though it's not exactly how it was with the CL massively expanded, so the EL is weaker cause of that alone. Was there a possibility that 6th place could have got into the CL this year that's over a quarter of the league.
It is an accomplishment to win it especially for a team that doesn't win much, my reasons for not being excited are down to apathy with how we play.
I'm of the opinion though that nearly all of the cup competitions have been made easier or harder to be knocked out from.

I think some people devaluing this competition should look at the paths we took to, say, the 91 cup win or even our 84 Uefa one...honestly...it makes me grimmace!

You complained because I was blunt, now you say I don't call a spade a spade. It's one thing or the other mate

You are making a rude and ignorant personal judgement when you call someone a 'piece of s hit'. That is a phrase used to describe people who are awful human beings. You are saying nothing about their work. And I'll bet you have no clue what he is like as a human being 'mate'. So yeah, you are NOT calling 'a spade a spade'...

As it happens I think he is a rude and obnoxious person, as well as an embarrassment to the club. I stick with my original description as I believe it is accurate

There is no doubt the quality of opposition is not great if two of the worst sides in the PL are in the final. And the story of a win for me is not the same as Palace winning the FA Cup having turned over 3 decent PL teams ( although not a great City team) or us winning the CC in 2008 for the same reason.

But a trophy is a trophy and unlike those aforementioned cup wins it comes with CL football. However what rankles, is the way we have had to give up on the League to get here.

We gave up on the league last August. I think it's fair to say all Spurs supporters are desperate to win on Wednesday, but we should also be aware that Palace's achievement is greater than our potential one. On another note, their support was amazing yesterday, and I truly wish our supporters could make just half as much noise as them. I have said for many years that Palace supporters are the best in the prem by a mile

We only gave up on the league in the last 3 or so weeks. If we'd've concentrated on the league this season we might have scraped 16th.

We gave up on the league this season when we didn't sack the PE teacher from Kes 12 months ago
