Is there anyone here who genuinely believes he is going to avoid 'the shove'?
I hope I am wrong, but I think he will avoid getting sacked at present. My prediction is we will start the season poorly and he will go around game ten. Then we play catch up for the rest of the season. It's so bl00dy obvious this man is a dreadful manager, and I can't believe any supporter wants him to stay based on a scrappy goal scored by Johnson.

Given our history of late, almost no development would surprise me.

‘We are delighted to welcome Elon as manager of our club, and are thankful that he suddenly became available. His excellent man-management skills, alongside his outstanding business acumen, made him the only candidate we wanted…’

At the moment, it would take a very smart man to know for sure what's going to happen. If they want to replace him, the best thing to do is to let the euphoria from the EL win die down, find a replacement and pull the trigger. The board-level changes would also help with that, the narrative being that it's a new start for the club.

However, what would you do differently if you simply intended to stick with Postecoglou? Not much, if you ask me. It's business as usual: you go on a well-deserved vacation and once everyone's back, you start working on the new season. In between matches, being a fan is mostly guesswork, using bribes of information to try and figure out players', managers' or the club's intentions.

Funny thing is, most people who want to keep him think he'll be sacked and most people who want him sacked think he'll stay!

I would think the board were ready to fire him but winning the Europa and the reaction to that has complicated matters. Sacking Ange and hiring someone like Frank would’ve been easier in the context of 17th/38pts (15 pts from the last 20 games ffs!)
But sacking “Europa League Winner / Trophy Redeemer” Ange and hiring Frank? Hmmm.
Like everyone else I haven’t a clue but I think they’re trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat and the rabbit is proving hard to find.

Chris Cowlin reckons that 70% of fans want Ange to stay - his sample being the 2600 who voted on his channel, but whether that is representative, who knows, it could include fans of other clubs! It is a genuinely tough decision - you'd have to be sure that a new manager could cope with 2 games a week, had a coaching team who would move with him, ideally had experience of the CL, and was tactically adroit. Like others on here I suspect we'll keep Ange and fire him around Christmas, unless there is a top manager out there who really relishes the job. If I was making the decision, Ange's attitude would have a lot to do with it - how would he answer the key question of how he would turn our poor league form around????

Yeah, the point I keep making, but with the caveat that us fans will never be exposed to the questioning or the answering between employer and employee. It is their private business. We just have to trust the process that THFC will give Ange the chance to continue if he has convincing answers, and vice versa if not.

I am absolutely not having that Ange didnt go to Levy and tell him he is fudging off the league for the Europa to win it. Im convinced it was an agreed strategy

Not playing Romero and VdV in most league matches? If ange was fudging off the league without consulting Levy he would have gone ages ago. I think there would have been agreement on the strategy and if you dont win EL you are gone. No chance Levy let the league slide as each place is worth £3.5 mill in prize money

Not to mention the 1000s of tinkled off season ticket holders

This is a multi million pound business with people at the top of their game on the board, not the Dog and Duck. The decision and scenarios to sack Ange (or not) would have been made weeks/months ago. The only reason they may make a late choice to about turn and sack him is if a world class manager which fits becomes available which was unforeseen.

The fact he has not gone already leads me to conclude he isnt going.
