Pathetic spurs. Pathetic club

Eriksen and Dele were an absolute disgrace today.

Davies was back to his usual brick self.

What a crap team we are at times.

Another weekend ruined because of this useless bottle Job club
i'd slate the players, and the coach, but i wouldnt go that far to call spurs a pathetic club

That was a one off. Every season is different. I think even if we were at WHL this season we would have dropped more points.

Dele is not the same player this season ( or he is simply being marked better which I think is true) Eriksen is erratic so far, we still don't have effective back up/foil for Harry. Our invention in the final third is poor.

Interested to hear your logic there

True, but it shows how strong we can be at our proper home.

I haven't checked, but I'd bet our (WHL) home form had improved year on year under Poch, culminating in last year's incredible form.

All that progress and familiarity has gone this year, and necessarily so in the big scheme.

I've said all along maintaining top 4 this season would be Poch's biggest achievement with us so far given the upheaval.

Title talk was and is fairy tales this year.

A super disappointing result. For me the only positive is that we didn’t lose and managed to show enough fight to claw one back. Otherwise it’s time for Poch to sort a few things out - especially against non money-doped, non-top 6 teams (I hate calling them ‘lesser’).

I don’t think there is any logic in precision prepared athletes being affected by what pitch they play on

I also don’t think that it was unreasonable to expect that the team who had scored the most points across the two preceding seasons would be involved in the title race again

These results are nothing to do with Wembley

There more to do with a lack of variety in our players which means teams know us better

Wembley didn’t make our players slow the ball down

Wembley didn’t make the players take 3/4 touches

Wembley didn’t make the players ignore the free wide players time and time again

Wembley didn’t mean zero creativity.

It's not just the pitch though (although I'd have thought that has some effect, especially early on), it's the whole routine, the structure, the change in travel arrangements - every aspect put together makes the place less familiar, less like our own, which means it can take time to adjust.

It's such a major difference to last season, I would think it is unreasonable to assume that it would play no part in our results.

he’s struggled to change games this season, when we start well we are fine, you can normally tell what the result will be after the first 20 mins

Yep. After 20 minutes I knew it was going to be one of those days. Had I been at home I might even have switched off. Slight improvement in the last couple of minutes of the first half, but we shot ourselves in the foot by making the wrong subs.

Based on the last 2 decades I’d say rather pathetic for such a big club.

I’m waiting for a sugar daddy to come along then maybe we can do something in this day and age of football

I believe this result is due to Pochettino not using the squad. Players were off form and tired. Will be interesting seeing the selection vs Leicester.

we’ve had the same underwhelming performances away from home at times and also gone to Dortmund and Madrid and got results

we have players in our squad who have more minutes at wembley than they have had at the lane and it suggests our mental preperation is lacking if such an irrelevance has any influence

From high up in the stands it was easy to see that West Brom had us worked out, and I think a lot of teams have now. Sit back, let us pass it back and forth, keep your concentration and wait for the inevitable error (and that didn’t take long today).

There is zero dynamism in the team in the league at the moment. Everything is sideways or backwards. And we seem to have a game plan that involves only going for it second half. We effectively wasted the first 45 minutes today.

Oh, and Wembley is an atmosphere vacuum when we are at 0-0 or losing.
