OMT SPURS v burnley

Its only 5% longer though....105 yards vs 100. And when thinking about balls in behind the defence, given you only defend one end of a pitch you really are only looking at an extra 2.5 yards....so less than 2 strides for a 6 foot centre back? I'm really not sure I buy the pitch size thing, and we should be used to it given other grounds are the same size as Wembley. Obviously no way of really proving it though...

To me, if there is a Wembley impact, its more to do with not having the stands tight to the pitch at WHL which created a much more intense/hostile atmosphere for away teams.

Regardless, we really need to beat Swansea and then Bournemouth in our next two home league games to try to put this story to bed

Isn't is quite a bit wider? Then if put the FBs on the line it leaves more space generally to exploit - although not necessarily a lot more directly behind.

Zlatan is an old mug. And Jose is a qunt. So there. ;)

Zlatan is still the best forward (and midfielder, and defender, and keeper) in football, Jose always wins the league in his second season, his claminess is part of his edge.

So there ;)

The August curse is not an accident. Unfortunately it is. a Levy thing and happens and will happen every year.

Don't have our signings in place. Usually start off light and underwhelmed . Cost us points every season.

Nothing changes.

I thought this has been pretty clearly explained as to why this is our strategy this summer. We have our targets. We keep them close to our chest. We allow teams with more money to make their moves first so that when we come in, clubs can't drive up the price because another team is not realistically bidding, and secondly we allow those clubs to fill spaces in their squad, so that that we are then the best option for likely first team football. A Chelsea could come in, but having just spent a load of money on a similar player, we have a clear run.

The Sanchez case is a perfect example of this.

We rely so much on the pace of our full backs. The two in the pitch have none, added to that Trips has forgotten how to cross and plays it back inside every time now.

No need for Dier and Dembele, drop Eriksen in there and bring on Vincenzo.
This, this, this

No it doesn't.

Also, since when do signings automatically guarantee points?

It's just not that simple.

It's 545 square metres bigger.

That's a hell of an adjustment.

Edit - link doesn't seem to work but Danny Rose it.

You probably missed the start of the exchange. 5 yards longer (ie 5%) and 1 yard wider (about 1.5% wider). I haven't been out with a tape-measure but will trust Sky's figures in the link which I posted above

Why do people keep saying we don't have home games? The more you keep saying it the more true it will get. We are playing at a ground where there are 70 000 + Spurs fans! How on earth does that translate into it being like playing away, or even neutral?

Wembleys a much longer pitch..plenty of room to attack and if your backs are slow the opposition will get behind. I don,t know if that's that's what happened today. Vertongen can be slow of the mark Trippier/Davies?
Maybe we could play an old fashioned sweeper system with Vertongen doing the mopping up....
It's not "much" longer! It's 5 meters. That's three steps when jogging.
