OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC vs west brom

Edit: Like buying an Aston Martin and only ever driving it around the town centre at 30mph for 5 years and then selling it. Surely sometimes you want to take it out of town and give it the beans and see what it can do?!

Wanyama and Dembele are two Humvees, phucking massive and in the way. Crash into them and your motor gets written off.

The sports cars are on the wings, Walker and Rose. They take the p1ss, speeding all around town.

Eriksen and Dele are Rolls Royce's. Class.

Which leaves Harry as the muscle car -- not as elegant as the others, but we like him the best of all!

Oh agree, its the worst of the 3 options, but the point I was making is, although Liverpool winning is not ideal, the plus side is that United fall 6 points behind us

agreed

although I don't think we should be too concerned with either, our defence is better than both

Absolutely brilliant today. Just caught the highlights and some of the football was just breathtaking against a side who notoriously make it difficult for opponents. West Brom certainly didnt look like they helped themselves but Kane was a man on a mission. Spurs are purring right now. Keep it going for as long as you can, and hope Vertonghen is not as serious as most people think!

I don't think we need to sign a CB we have Wimmer, Davies and CCV, if none of them are good enough we should get rid of them. There is not a CB in the Premier I would want to sign, the Dutch player at Southampton is highly over rated, he won every header against Liverpool but I think Eriksen would have too. If we need cover for any one it's Eriksen.

I think we'll play Davies to cover Vertonghen. He plays there for Wales and his comfort in the full-back area and going forward with the ball will be important to keep the system working well. Emirates Marketing Project next, they like to get Sterling own the channel -- I think Davies would deal with that better than Wimmer. Wimmer can cover Toby in the centre of the back three.

Fonte anyone?

Yes! I suggested in the transfer thread that we pick him up and that was before Verts injury - we don't have a right-sided CB to cover Alderweireld and whlist Fonte might only play for another couple years, he's a leader and decent CB. I'd sign him and get him to captain the EL - cheap, experienced signing and would mean another first-teamer could focus on the league rather than Europe. I can't see much downside

Terry Henry looked gutted at half time. Jamie Redknapp has a grudge against us because of his dad. Alan Smith is grudgingly having to give us a bit of praise through gritted teeth. Martin Tyler hates Spurs.

Love it. Stitch that Sky.

You should have heard Danny Mills on Five Live. I made the mistake of tuning in on my terrace tranny. Every single negative angle you could possibly spin on anything to do with Spurs. The commentator was actually trying to say a few positive things about us, but Mills was relentless with the down-beat every time. We dominated the first half but should have scored at least two more than we did; the players are great but they're all on everyone's radar now, their heads will all be turned if big offers come in; new contracts, yes, but contracts mean nothing; Spurs don't pay their players big money, they're the worst payers in the top six, big offers from China or Man U et al., and Alli's head will be turned, Rose's and Walker's heads will be turned, Kane's head, etc. etc., it will be very difficult for their heads not to be turned; there's the new stadium coming but it might not be finished on time; it's supposed to be ready for the start of the 2018 season but we don't know it'll be complete by then, and even if it is, it will be a couple of seasons before that makes a difference to what Spurs pay; Kane and Alli and Rose and Walker and Lloris and Alderweireld will all be thinking they deserve parity with other top players, and on and on and on and on.

Good player and consistent but he won't be cheap

I'd rather play wimmer or bring through CCV

Decent shout. Have tbh I am not 100% convinced by CCV yet, still too early yet. Would all depend on the severity of Veronghens injury. 6 weeks and no additions. Rest of the season and I would be tempted at the right price

The term 'board hero' gets bandied about fairly loosely these days, but I'm willing to take on the moniker and run with it.

Quality OMT = Quality performance.

No stats, no analysis required, it's a gift.

Plus I watched the match in the middle of several drinking games and my memory is hazy.

Kane and Alli were superb. Chadli was brick. That about sums it up.

COYS!

Why is it that when the other big teams are first or second on MOTD they get in depth analysis yet we get 2 minutes?

Match of the Day analysis
Former England midfielder Danny Murphy: "Dele Alli did some magical things. There is nothing he can't do.

"He loves nutmegs… poor old Darren Fletcher. I didn't know he had this quality and vision… he just gets better every week. He's a wonderful talent."

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright: "Full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker are just unbelievable. West Brom's Nacer Chadli had the thankless task of dealing with Rose, who is one of the best left-backs in Europe right now.

"When you have the insurance of midfielders Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama, Rose can go forward."

Certainly will be a very good marker. They, currently, havent done well against the Top 6, but they seem to be clicking into gear right now. I would take a draw if you offered it me now and chalk off another tough away day
I don't think you get it: when all top 6 are clicked into gear, we're the better team of the lot hands down. Don't be impressed by the names on the rosters. We can beat the lot when we're in top form, no matter how top form they are.

And have a fit team

We seem to forget the injuries we have had
