Why are we struggling to score this season?

If we were not creating chances I'd grant you that. But I think you'll find we are creating LOTS of chances...
Last I heard, coaches also are responsible for teaching the team how to put the ball in the net.

Can't you accept the possibility that Poch is still learning? That he is not perfect, and that you can't blame everything on players.

Since we beat City we've scored 1 goal from open play in 5 games, wow.

Sadly we just don't have the strength in depth that we thought we had at the moment. If this continues then our shot at the title will be over by Christmas.

Depends on what position you mean. For me the two weaknesses in our squad are:
- we have 6 senior pros for the 3 positions behind the CF, but none are outstanding and none have the x-factor. You can find players (Mahrez, Payet, Coutinho are examples) who don't cost £50m but can bring this. Our 6 players in those positions are all a bit predictable
- apologies for being boring, but for the 15274334th time, we don't have any cover for Dembele despite him being one of our most important players last year. Mason and Bentaleb moved on, and no-one replaced them. We need some natural (ie similar style) cover for him so he can be brought off when he plays like he did today

I thought Dembele was great today

Problem today was Son spent too much time wide yet didn't get the ball in anytime

Eriksen was lazy and came deep too often

Alli tried flash stiff that early comes off but was still out biggest threat out of the 3... And Poch takes him off

I have to agree. I've pretty much given up on the title already this season. Liverpool, Emirates Marketing Project, and more often than not Arsenal seem to be scoring for fun, whereas we barely score. So I can't see that changing as much as it would need to for us to win the title.

Agree. Why he takes Alli off ( he did the same at Bournemouth) when he is still our most likely scorer ( with Kane absent) is a mystery to me.

And Eriksen . We have no like for like cover for him either. Imagine if we could have bought an Isco? We sometimes need the guile that star players bring. Eriksen is failing badly in that department this season and when he doesn't play well, we tend to stutter as a team, yet we have no-one to replace him and keep him on his toes. His free kicks and corners have gone from bad to worse.

good to see poch getting players to play the cross in earlier in the game against leicester. we've been missing this element in our game for some time now. still its usually only Janssen in the box, when we should get two - near post and far post - to take full advantage.

high intensity pressing has its advantages, but it comes at some costs. poch needs to find a better balance.

I think we're doing OK this season.

However my one critique would be that the likes of Alli, Lamela, Son (at least he's scored goals!) and most noticeably Eriksen aren't being incisive enough..

Lack of responsibility and lack of initiative all round. Safe, slow, sideways passing. Ludicrous, infuriating attempted one touch flicks.

I said it a few times in the OMT yesterday, I really do feel sorry for VJ. If this trend continues I'll feel sorry for Kane when he returns too.

Hopefully one of our AMFs gets on the same wavelength as Janssen soon or at least hits a scoring streak (like Son did back in September) so we return to winning ways.

Shot Efficiency [Goals Scored / Expected Goals]
Current: Spurs 0.93 (Emirates Marketing Project 1.28)
2016: Spurs 1.01 (Leicester 1.14)
2015: Spurs 1.14 (Chelsea 1.04)
2014: Spurs 0.90 (Emirates Marketing Project 1.26)
2013: Spurs 1.07 (Man Utd 1.14)
2012: Spurs 1.05 (Emirates Marketing Project 1.19)
2011: Spurs 0.93 (Man Utd 1.14)

Failing that, Kane should be back soon and he did bang in 6 goals last November...

Interesting stats - do you have the average expected goals for the top 6 so far this season?

What crosses???

We didn't put the ball in until late in the second half

It's why Jansenn came deeper a lot as he was in good positions and we played a lovely pass back to the end of the area

I suppose Poch wants to save him for Wednesday's game. With Kane out we can't afford for Alli to be injured/ knackered too.

N'Koudou banged one across low late on, a waste imo, you need to be picking someone out from that position.

In reply to the original question.

Beating the first man from a corner would be a start. How frustrating is Eriksen becoming. At least it improved when Son took a few
