OOMT: Spurs vs Woolwich Nomads

What's annoying is that we would have been 6 points ahead of Arsenal. They were lose more belief and confidence and it may have gone down to a 2 horse race.

Now they will be confident and may go on to win the league.

They had 10 men and were
The better team.

Leicester are top so I'm not having this " oh we can't win it coz we are inexperienced. What the fudge are they then!

Agreed. It's gutting to lose but the insults being flung around here are out of order.

We gained a point and every point counts. Disappointing not to get 3 but we should all be proud of what such a young team are doing. Another 15 points should probably get the 4th spot, and in the meanwhile we are still in the EL. I need TP for my bunghole!

Strange substitution bringing Mason on for lamela, I get that lamela had to come off but go like for like, Chadli or son. We completely lost control of the game from that point.

2 wins in our next two league games and we'll be in a great position to win the title. Disappointing week but we've played two good teams

Fuuuck! Deserved the win. They were never going to stop coming, we needed to kill it off and didn't.

Lesson learnt. Next.

Not sure we "deserved the win" all things considered.

Good first 40 without creating much, bad next 10, coquelin gets sent off followed by another good 10 or 15, but then Arsenal completely dominated the last exchanges with 10 men! Awful last part of the game from us, I felt we lacked leaders out there, same against west ham actuslly.

Arsenal took a gamble and went for it. They have players capable of causing anyone problems. So this time the gamble worked for them. The momentum shifted then things like tiredness starts to become a factor because things are not going in your favour.

I honestly thought after Kane scored we would win about 4-1. Disappointing, but not the end of the world

The loss of control was because Lamela went off and Mason is not on his game, Chadli, though is not the sort of player who wrests "control" back, neither is Son. I would have replaced Eriksen today rather than Lamela because he was having a poor game. But it is easy to say in hind sight.

I though Eriksen was doing well in behind Kane in the second half before Mason came on.
First half he was playing mostly on the right with Lamela on the left which didnt work.
Second half it was Alli left, Eriksen centre and Lamela right.
Then when Mason came on it was Alli in the centre again.
His set pieces all game were pretty hit and miss.

What a bloody shame to not win that. Arsenal were better with 10 men

Dier, Alli and Eriksen were very poor. I've lost my Patience with Eriksen. He has too many poor games.

Arsenal showed more Heart and determination to win than us. That's what very disappointing. When they had 10 men we didn't push on. We looked scared and
Nervous.

Such a big shame
Once again Arsenal get the upper
Hand again over us. We could have been 6 points ahead of them. They could have been the outsiders for the league.

I think Arsenal will take this and go on to win the league. They will be out of cl so league would be their focus.

A real shame and a real chance gone for us.

So so disappointing

Sorry, disappointment is one thing getting it wrong is another. When they went down to 10 men we scored 2 goals in three minutes and were unlucky not to get a third. A critical moment in the match was when Sanchez looked to get Lamela sent off down near the corner of the Shelf and Paxton. The cheating qunt absolutely convinced Poch it was time to make a sub (doubtless worried about a second yellow) , and I would argue that it changed the course of the game (along with them playing three forwards). We showed tremendous spirit. It is a huge shame we couldn't see it out, but I have no worries about the effort...I do think a few are tired, and Alli is not 100% in my view.

Anyone else think there is a problem in that we cant rely on neither Chadli nor Son to come and press properly.
I'd rather see even see Bentaleb or Carroll come on in those positions and close them down properly.

When's the last time Son had a good game? Not since he got that silly haircut anyway.
And Chadli? We all know that all he is good for is popping up with a goal against a team sitting deep defending when we have all the ball.

Could N'Jie come in and go something? Onomah? I'd rather give either of them a chance than Chadli against Dortmund.

First-off matey, it was a draw! ;)

But I wholeheartedly agree (maybe it's our age hahahahahahaha)

I think there's a certain level of ignorance going down around here too.
I will put forward what I saw tactically, which is worth reading (I would!!!!)

Wenger was smart from the off. Two fastest full-backs he's got kept our FBs from playing their natural game and kept us honest with respects to their breakaway potential. Wenger was happy to let us play in front of their defense and also forced us to work through the middle, where they immediately doubled up on Eriksen and Kane. When Wenger had an impact sub to make, he made it tactically by putting a third striker on the pitch, which effectively left Sanchez with a bit more freedom to drift (sadly he did precisely this, coming through the channel to scuff home. It took us a few minutes to adjust. Critical. Finally (not tactics this) Kane again saw a 7/8 goal not given (ant-clam hair's width prevents that from being a goal) and Ospina has had an excellent gamer, making three fine, fine saves. Could our subs have been better? Maybe.
But at the end of the day, we keep them three points+ away, we are still second, and depending on what happens right now at Vicarage Road, are still within a game of the top.
All to play for.

I wonder what Bentaleb has done wrong to be marginalised like this but there you go....

Exactly..and a fantastic Kane goal which tells me his season is far from over....

In around T-minus 2 hours Steff will come roaring into this thread telling everyone to buck up and that he has no doubts we will stiffen our spines, starch our shirt-fronts and march to glory across no man's land, bullets whizzing by our heads, bayonets thrust out front, stare fixed on the distant horizon

:D:D:D

Superb. I had a good giggle. To be fair you have been kind, given the fact I was expecting some 'happy clapper' comment...but I'd be lying if I didn't cop to resembling that remark!
