How many goals would Son have to score to meet your expectations?

It depends on how much he plays obviously. His record in Germany is impressive, considering he did NOT play as a striker. But You can't judge a player a flop or a success by his first season. My guess is he'll score about 5 in the league, and quite a few in the el.

Anywhere between 5 to 15 would be a great return

What id like to see is his pace and versatility playing with both feet creating opportunities for others

@DTA I feel vindicated after Poch's comments on the website this afternoon

What, for guessing what the club's party line on 'one striker' would be? ;) Odd how the statement doesn't really reflect Pochettino's characteristic phraseology, though. Almost as if... Nah, never mind. MRDA, IMO.

10-15 league goals, assuming he starts most games and plays as more of a wide forward. 10 would be a good return, 15 would be excellent. Beyond that would be outstanding.

Double figures from each of the (first choice) 3 behind Kane and 15-20 from Harry and we'll have an excellent season.

To match my expectations? Any more than 5 would be brilliant.

I watch a lot of Bundesliga and am very surprised we signed him and were willing to pay so much. He's not a terrible striker by any means but in the Bundesliga he is pretty average and even in the games he scores in he never seems to stand out at all. I can't see any reason why he would be more suitable to the Premier League then the Bundesliga.

Seems to me the club just needed to get someone in to bulk up the forward position and appease the fans and weren't overly bothered about who it was.

I have seen enough of him to agree with Craig_J and I liken him to Siggi, floats and scores but doesn't create or do a lot of other work.

I also think like Eric he will need months to adapt

As a wing forward 1 every 3 gsmes

As a striker 1 every 2 games

Again let me point out that "he is one of only four players to score 10 or more Bundesliga goals in each of the past three seasons." And for a 23 year old that's really not "pretty average". It shows a level of consistency rare in someone his age, and suggests there may be even better to come.

Its hard to give an estimate. Are we assuming he will replace Chadli on the left who scored 11 last season (a very decent return). Kane, Eriksen and Chadli scored something like 42 goals in the league last year. You would think he would eat into some of these if he gets his fair share.

if he can break into the box and shout "on me head son" i think he will increase his chances.
