Always knew we would have problems with Adebayor when Redknapp first signed him. We should have learned from all his problems at his previous clubs. And Levy's decision to block his transfer to West Ham in January looks stupid now.

Redknapps didn't sign him, he was on loan under Redknapps. Ade was an AVB signing.

IIRC, AVB never wanted Adebayor. I think it was Levy/Baldini who signed Adebayor. And it was Redknapp who brought in Adebayor on loan.

Adebayor was certainly on the back burner that summer whilst we looked at other options but he became a Spurs player under AVB.
I think that it is a bit of a waste of time saying that player A was a manager's signing, player B the chairman's and player C the DoF. It clearly does not work like that and managers and DoFs who leave the club are always going to try and distance themselves from the flops, so their accounts are unreliable.
Baldini is on the clear on this though, as he didn't join the club until the following summer.

Most players like Son that we purchase have been scouted for a number of years. Its the same with Youth development its setting up the structure that pays dividends 5years down the line

What an incredibly pathetic situation we allowed ourselves to get into. Why the fudge we offered him such a long deal in the first place is beyond me. My anger with this situation has slowly turned from the player to Levy for this one.
