If you were running spurs (and I'm assuming you don't) I'd imagine you'd be at the very least asking yourself why we didn't book flight to fly out earlier rather than asking german Air traffic control for a favour
It's just the little things we need to get right to move to the next level

And Madrid do fly out tonight even though they have 2 weeks until season opener. Take a bow Levy, your management skills are outstanding. (Cue Levy apologists)

I think he should have been right across this. Did madrid change their flights today or did they book them that way 6 weeks ago?
Did he even give the timing of this little jaunt any thought. Or did he just write off the clubs opening game

I was going to ask whether or not your first post was satirical but I guess that your second post is confirmation that it wasn't and that you really do think that this is all Levy's fault.

In which case, for starters, do we even know that there is any truth in this story? It seems somewhat unlikely to me. Why would the German authorities deny Spurs the opportunity to change their flight plans? Flight plans are routinely altered. New flight plans are routinely filed and accepted. So long as Spurs' new plans are logged with ATC, there should be no issue. Besides, why would Spurs suddenly have decided to change their plans? If they wanted to get back to London tonight, they would surely have dealt with it weeks ago.

If this story is true, however, why do you jump to the conclusion that it must be Levy's fault? Is it also Levy's fault if the kit man forgets to pack Jan Vertonghen's boots? Or if the tea lady buys Typhoo instead of Earl Grey?

Lastly, and again if this story is true, why need it be a cause for hand wringing or hostility? It might not be an ideal scenario but it's hardly critical.

Lol I think Levy will be the last person sorting out flights. He probably doesn't even know how to as his PA prob does this sort of thing for him. (Just guessing of course)

But even if he did, he might have more important things to do half way through the transfer window and when we have just started the biggest construction project in the club's history.

No way on earth fazio will play on saturday, i don't think he'll be on the bench.

Good second half, Onomah improved, winks looked great. With all these kids I think we can afford to sell Mason, older than them all and worse!! Cash in!!

I think the team absolutely picks itself for Saturday, I would be hugely gobsmacked if it wasn't Lloris, Walker, Alderwereld, Jan, Rose, Dier, Bentaleb, Dembele, Eriksen, Chsli, Kane

Personally I'm not impressed with Dier in the middle and would risk it with Alli, but I think it's pretty clear what porch will do.

Now can we sign that midfielder, winger, striker please!!!

Mason is still one of our best two central midfield players at the club. I think the only thing that will stop him starting against Man Utd is a bit of a lack of fitness from having a reduced pre-season. If Mason doesn't play then I also would probably throw Alli in there, I'm not sure away to Man Utd is the best way to introduce a youngster playing central midfield, but it looks as though the kid has a lot of confidence to match his ability.... Is still a big step up however and not anywhere near the same as a couple of quarter paced friendlies against European opposition.

After a decent win we still have the Levy haters bitching, I wonder why some even bother.

So true. I don't know why people are so anti Mason? I watched a rerun of the NLD from the lane, and Mason was emense in that match. He set the tempo and really got in the arsenal players faces. We need players like that in our squad.
Considering it was his first full season as an established first team player in the Premiership, do people really think he was not gonna have a dip or that he wasn't gonna make mistakes?

I can see Poch keeping the team the same as last season for the start of the new season, then bedding the other players in gradually.

I think the one advantage we have over other teams is that we have a settled team, whilst others have overhauled their first teams.

We just need to play a high tempo game on Saturday and put pressure on Utd.

Really Grimsby your remorseless campaign against Mason is more than just wearisome. If he's really as poor as you believe how come he continues to be selected? Pochettino didn't get to where he is by persisting with players that are not up to the job so please just give it a rest.

That said, I'd concede on tonight's performance he does not look ready for 90 mins at OT on Saturday.

Also agree about Dier and Ali, hopefully the latter will get his chance against United from the bench.

Shoot me if you want, but I still don't get the lovefest with Bentaleb. He reminds me of Scotty "Backpass" Parker. Tidy with the ball, but 80% passing backward, even when there are forward options. And this in a friendly, where he could take a few more chances. Very frustrating. That being said, he did push forward more in the latter stages of the match.

Alli wasn't too involved today, but I think he should start against Yoonited. Kid showed great poise against both Real and MLS and these are the games where I would expect him to have more of the jitters, since he's trying to impress the coach. Once he gets the nod, I bet he'll be even more calm and composed and show more of his talent.

Trippier should also start. fudge this easing new players in brick. He's playing much better than Walker at this point on both ends of the pitch. And he looks like he's one of the few players on the team that can actually create goal-scoring chances, which we'll sorely need.

Lamela, what can I say? It looks like he's having a case of the Soldados.

Iirc, Mason was first introduced in the NLD at the Emirates and he didn't do too shabby.:)

This is probably just a case of Levy not willing to pay the steep ticket changing fees on Easyjet.

very proud of the lads yesterday, excellent team performance and some great hope for the future.

i firmly believe Mason and Bentaleb are Poch's first choice pairing. He trusts in them totally imo so whoever we sign for that position this summer will be a back up

Bentaleb, Mason, Alli, Dembele and one other to come in

I don't remember the last time Poch played Dembele CM (when Mason got injured against Chelsea?). Poch seems to view him very much as an AM again now.

Carroll or Winks are probably our 4th CM at the moment.
