Saido Berahino

48 hours is quite specific - are we measuring it from:
A. When the print runned ended
B. When the shops opened
C. When we, as individuals, read it ( aka the ITK angle)
D. The moment the journo made it up to ensure he can paid.

I'm kind of hoping a player is announced the day we are in the meat and drink of that all-star MLS game. Get on that hype train baby! (in a Austin powers voice)

West Brom want 25 million.
He's rated at 20 million.
We're going to bid 10 million in the next 48 hours.
We also signed him for 15 million in the previous 48 hours.

I just love Mr Levy if he offers £10m, its such a fudging insult you can see why the selling club would get the hump, trouble is if you have agreed everything with the player he can force the move he wants.

The actual official bid is generally the last thing that goes in for a transfer these days. An official offer gets faxed with a full financial break-down and agreement for the other club's solicitors to look over. That's after all the negotiations have been concluded, often involving agents or go-betweens, rather than club officials. In fact, it is getting more common that the player and his agent approach their club with a transfer proposal and attempt to gain acceptable figures, without even revealing who the approaching club is.

What a waste of time that is .. More n more bad blood and zero respect between clubs deep down these days .. By your example lloris wants to leave we accept it and find out he wants to join arsenal or Chelsea , not going to happen ... I have bo idea how clubs go about transfers but I bet it is as sneaky as fudge and no one gives a fudge if the leaving player and club buying him get what they want

Heard you the first time Keef

I wonder are we holding fire on an official bid until we shift one of Ade or Soldado.

Also West Brom have signed James Chester from Hull for £6m and are trying to sign Bako from Wolves who wants £50k a week or something silly so perhaps let them spend a bit and then offer them the cash?

They also want Lambert, maybe we are waiting for that to go through?

also this from paul smith, spursodysey owner:

I have it on good authority that Berahino will arrive next week. The transfer business will be done upon our return from USA.
West Brom to sign Lambert.
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I do not monitor the transfer thread.

also this from nathanspurs on coys: My pal is a baggies fan who has a few contacts, I dropped him a text about the tweet WBA put out and he replied saying, 'Ignore it, Berahino will sign for Spurs.'
and
'It will be done by Friday.'
that's a text I received from a friend with contacts at WBA.
