*** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Everton *** OMT

I was thinking that too, I watched portions of the game where we were totally in control. Those highlights didn't even feature Dembele once!

Oh well screw the bbc. Regarding Lloris Ali Z on coys reckons he's going nowhere

Spurs finish the season five points down on last season's total of 69 points, yet finish one place better-off in 5th.

Funny old game, football.

Indeed...

Doesn't sounds good on the LLoris front but hopefully it was just a last day thing, I think we might get one more season from him. He's still young.

No Europa play off required now, could help us make a fast start.

For me. that is a massive bonus. Potentially 4 extra games now for either Liverpool or more likely Southampton, in July and August.

I doubt it is much of deal-breaker to a potential signing, but we obviously know we are guaranteed European football after deadline day, no ifs or buts, and for the likes of people booking hotels/transport, we now know which 6 matches WONT be played on the Saturday at least.

Season began with Kane setting up Dier and ends with Dier setting up Kane.

Good point. Started with a 1-0 away win, ended with a 1-0 away win, and its so good to take a winning run, with back-to-back clean sheets, into the summer break.

Congratulations to Poch and the boys. I'm a bit of a reactionary poster, but fifth in the league and a cup final has exceeded my expectations.

Really, really good effort.
Agreed, but still 5 points worse than last season, when we were utter shambles. Still, we finished on a good note.

And with the same points as two seasons ago, we'd be in CL this year. So I never look at position, but at points earned and we could have done a bit better this season had it not been for our late season slump. Which was rather surprising, actually, given we only had the league to focus on. Anyways, here's to hoping for more consistency next year. We've shown we can play with the big boys, now let's do it game in and game out!

We might have been a "shambles" but Tim Sherwood's 42 points from a maximum possible 66 remains the best League performance of any Spurs manager.

If Poch won the same points per game this season as Sherwood did last, we would have around 73 points - good enough for fourth place with ease.

Did you know that in the 17 game run starting with Hull away and ending with QPR away, Poch managed over 2 points per game?

Looking at the 16 teams (substituting relegated/promoted sides) that both AVB and Sherwood came up against last season, Poch actually outperformed both. AVB got 27 points, Sherwood 28 (55 in total) and Poch 57.

I'm beginning to think there is something to this "reversion to the mean" thing; I've made out like a bandit this season on Betfair backing Spurs not to keep a clean sheet, though the odds have been parsimonious (1/3 or worse) but my end of season P&L has been blighted by two clean sheets in a row.

I could not be happier ...

Season started with 2 cleansheets from 2 games. We didn't manage that again until our final 2 league games.

We started the season with a Kane assist to Dier. We ended the season with a Dier assist to Kane.

yes it is.

i thought we were really good especially in the first half

bentaleb is good on the left, and dembele did really well harderning our core. see to believe, we can do better than bentaleb in the centre.

I feel a bit negative for next season. Especially after the way we have been playing recently.

Poch actually had a decent squad for this game but some of his selections have been baffling!

Stambouli hardly selected at all! He looks a strong player to me,just needs more games.
Fazio although a mindless player in the tackle has some good experience.. left out far too
often.
Defence has been brick..
Lamela ..I really don't know what to make of him at 36m. he needs to dramatically show the class of that price
tag.
Soldado!!! Still couldn't deliver this season!..oh yeah and at 26 m!

If any of our best players leave...what happens then?

If no one leaves ...thats a start but will Poch have the knowledge of recognizing the class players we desperately need to keep the heads held up high of the likes of Kane, Erickson, and Lloris. We all know what Baldini can do!

Anyway.............reality check 5th place ..I feel we have been fortunate.

On a more positive note...we'll win the Prem for the first time since 1961 next Season...cough...choke...

OH well.... Come o y m spurs............

Lol when did Lamela suddenly become a £36m player? I think it was €30m or £26m
