I'm all for criticising Poch before the decisions been made, but if it is to be him, I just hope everyone gets behind him 100%.

I feel it has to be somebody who has been there, seen it, done it, not another well he could be good type appointment...

I am totally in agreement with this statement.

It is why as much as I think he is a bit of a **** I will go for the fat Spanish waiter has the most experience of the ones we can get.

The thing is not many people know this but he comes from a lower working class family and in Argentina speaks with what would be described as a "chavy" accent. So some on here are going to rip him to shreds.

Will his translator translate to Chav then?

If he is to be the manager, I realy hope the club insist on him ditching the translator. The clips I saw of him speaking english just fine are from a whole year ago, so there realy should'nt be any need for it now.

Im sure at Southampton it was just used as an easy way to deflect the press.

In whose opinion would it be harsh? I'd be very disappointed and underwhelmed personally.

Well obviously in my opinion. Why would you be 'very disappointed'? The only reasons to not be keen on him are that hes not achieved anything of note at a big club, but it is diffucult for us to attract TOP established managers. We know he plays attractive football but also appears to be a tactical and intelligent manager. Like players our best bet is managers who have big potential, not the real deal.

Poch would be 3rd on my list, Id rather Bentiez and if not him FDB. But I can still see he has big potential, and certainly wouldnt be disappointed....

Manchester United will delay naming Louis van Gaal as their new manager until after the weekend to respect Holland's preparations for their friendly against Equador on Saturday.

I'd be a liar if I said the appointment of Poch doesnt fill me with dread. You cant help but have Ramos / AVB flashbacks. I just dont see what he has done to warrant this position. Yet again, why are we looking for the "next big thing" and being a training course for managers, instead of getting someone with proven experience.

LVG to Man U is done. Giggs was even pictured in Holland yesterday discussing with him the no 2 role...

Surely if that were the case UTD would've released a statement a few days ago. The press are all over the Dutch camp atm anyway, the best was to keep them out would be to say "it's done"

but the CL final is next Sat on the 24th

Simply because i don't think Levy is a fool. If Rafa is available then he will be our main target and if that fails then it will be FDB or Poch.

The latter two are AVB type risks and i'm not sure Levy is willing to throw the dice again.

Rafa will want to spend big, bring in his own players. I dont think Levy wants that hassle tbh

Then he will be a fool.

Rafa will want money but to the extent that he rejects the chance to come back to England? i doubt it. He will probably get £20m plus player sales (which could easily amount to 60m plus).

I don't think Levy is a fool, but he doesnt have a great track record in signing managers - certainly not enough to inspire confidence in doing so anyway....

Where has the benitez talk even come from ?
Is it just some spurs fans want him or has it been reported credibly ?

Thought he was happy at napoli ?

His been spotted visiting London by some sports journalists...just attempting to put two and two together

You don't want Benitez anywhere near transfers though - that's his big Achilles' heel.

If he comes he needs to be firmly on Baldini's leash in that aspect.

Benitez will expect investment though. Whereas for FdB and Poch, moving from selling clubs to a zero net spend club will be a progression.
