I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Re: Official - Lamela

i'd lay evens he never plays for us again

I wouldn't have agreed with that up until yesterday. Seeing Townsend do the final end-of-season lap round WHL on crutches, but with no sign of Lamela, suggests he's a Spurs player in name only in my view. He'll be off this summer.

Except Lamela was there! In a white cap

Re: Official - Lamela

I know I'll be in the minority but I don't think we will see any of Lamella,Lloris or Verts leave this summer....

Re: Official - Lamela

Ahhh!! Good to see. Completely missed him on the video that's up on the OS. Cool... doesn't mean he *will* stay, but at least it implies he *might*.

Cheers for that, vkn17.

No worries, it was encouraging to see him together with the squad at least!

Re: Official - Lamela

It's a little shocking to me actually, because I was a true believer that Verts would end up captain. But out of the three it is Verts I would be least upset about leaving. Still gutted because I want to give all of them a chance with a new manager (even Paulinho).

It's just the body language on the pitch at times really made me lose a little love.

Maybe that's unfair because he is more of an ice character (see: the Halloween cupboard incident) and I'm no body language expert so what do I really know?

I just hope that (especially if its FDB) a new manager will help him return to his shirt ripping super best.

Re: Official - Lamela

\\\\we will have to fight in order to keep lamela to be fair

Its that ONE season in italy that his stock is living off of. right now the speculative value of his talent his high...he could break out into something special or someone that supports someone special in a great team......that trumps all the heart break and the let down from this season

it'll be a tough summer again for us no doubt

verts
Lamela
lloris

all on the wanted list IMO

and probably kyle walker as well

Re: Official - Lamela

Value is in the eye of the beholder , so to speak. We would only sell Lamela if the price was right to us and that would be to offset what we see as a big loss of around £30m. Who would pay that ? Only Italy or Spain.

If these clubs only go up to 2/3 of whatever we paid (let's say £20m) then we come back to thinking what can we get for £20m? And what do we do, write off another Rebrov's worth of funds?

If we are willing to offload then loan is the only way forward as it allows him to get his value up again. But I think it's too early for this. Injury was the main factor he flopped last season, clean bill of health and a new manager is definitely a good start for a second attempt.

I personally dont think it was tbh. I can understand that the season is over and people are going to come to their own conclusions which is fair enough but my thinking is that you can be injured alot and not have a question mark on your delivery and capability over the course of the season. at which point you could say injurys stopped him from showcasing his talent. I just feel he was playing badly or uninspiring before that

i think what stopped him from being as good as he can be was the pace and power of the league, his mental make up and him being a kid in general in a new surrounding. but thats just a personal opinion

Re: Official - Lamela

Lamela 30 Mill
Costa 32 Mill

F*ck
I may be in minority, but it's a nobrainer for me, that Lamela is more gifted and has better potential than overrated cnut Costa. Lamela just needs time and a PROPER coach to settle him. His departure this summer will be a very huge dissapointment for me, nearly equal to Eriksen and Lloris possible transfers.

i dont think Costa is overrated, but yeah id be disappointed too if we sold Erik before giving him a real chance to show what he can do. Poch could be just the guy to get something special out of out Argie wonderkid

Re: Official - Lamela

Costa over rated...give me a break.
No problem, take it.

The guy is 26 this year, perfomed only one season on top level in a team, which overperfomed due to several factors. He's an important screw in Atletico's solid mechanism, but doesn't contribute anything special in comparison with the likes of Suarez, Aguero, Ibra etc. He is a dirty diving cnut, which is an undoubtable fact.
As for me, Atletico is doing everything available to sell him as expensive as possible this summer. Their striker buying/selling business has been excellent for several seasons already.

Anyway, in two seasons we'll see, what he is worth. Especially if he changes the league.

Partly that, but remember his reputation coming out of Argentina that Roma paid somewhere in the neighborhood of €20m for him. And that was from River Plate who had just gotten relegated and were in no position to negotiate a good fee.

Lamela 30 Mill
Costa 32 Mill

What a strange comparison...
