martinez has done a brilliant job but he's not eclipsed what Moyes achieved there yet (contrary to what some say). Moyes has finished 4th with Everton.

They finished 4th with 61 points and a negative goal difference, a record low for 4th. Even then he got knocked out of the CL qualifiers. He's taken the runaway Champions to 7th whilst his previous "overachieving" team are doing better than they ever have. I like to think Levy will have learnt his lesson of hiring managers who've failed at top PL clubs. Moyes would just be an incredibly depressing hire, fair play for sticking to your guns but there's very valid reasons for you being outnumbered 50:1 on this.

I think that Moyes is a better manager than he is being given credit for at the moment and the seeds of his failure at Manchester United were sown by Ferguson and the Glazier's lack of investment in the squad for a number of years. But I think that we need a manager who can united the fans and the players have instant belief in and Moyes is not that man.

So what about the points total? i much preferred our 11/12 season than our 12/13 (minus Chelski winning the CL of course). They got knocked out by a fantastic Villareal team and that was only because the referee straight conned them.

In Lukaku Martinez had the player given to him from out of nowhere that Moyes needed ever since Rooney left.
Still Martinez has done much better than I reckoned he would.

I would genuinely prefer Sherwood to stay in charge rather than have Moyes as our manager. I just think he's been well and truly found out there.

It'll be a real test of Martinez's ability next season if they are unable to attract such a high quality of loanees again

I definitely don't want Moyes in charge of Spurs. I'd stop short of preferring Sherwood, but I'm sure he'd be a disaster at Spurs. He's just completely the wrong 'fit'.

He has the same AVB mentality of 'avoid defeat first, see if you can create something 2nd'. A lot of his team's play at Everton was underwhelming, involving direct balls up to Fellaini.

Would lose a lot of faith in Levy if he approached Moyes.

My mate is British Italian and messaged me the Alegri link the other day. Italian news seem pretty convinced its happening. My mate is a fan of Allegri he said he overachieved with the Milan squad he had at the time and was treated pretty crapily but has a good rep in Italy still

Some random bloke claiming to be ITK reckons that Spurs have had LVG sewn up since February and Sherwood has been given the task ofwinding the players up to see who has the fight to stay on long term by the board. I'd love to believe it, but everything TS has said in recent months makes me believe it is all BS. Why else would he tout himself for the job all the time.

I know the bookies aren't everything, and there's a lot of factors that can affect this.
..but even after the so called cooling off rumours, ie it was his agent just bigging him up, the odds haven't really drifted.
He's still the 2nd favourite. I would have expected them to drift by now, and they haven't.

After LVG, Rafa is a close 2nd for me. Would love to know how realistic he is (Rafa)

As for Klopp, can't see it in a million years, why go for one club who sells their best players to another club that does the same? This isn't a dig at Levy / ENIC btw.

English journo's have stated that WHL sources have said it's all lies and that it's Alegri's agent who is making the story up to get him a job. This is the same tactic used by Prandelli's agent earlier in the year to bring the Italian FA to the table, back then he was also a done deal.

I did hear a soundbite from an Italian correspondent on Talk****e saying that he thought the rumours had little substance too. I'm inclined to believe it's all BS given the way the Italian media fabricated the Prandelli story.

PS: If we were to use the betting market as an example, surely they would've re-opened for bets on LVG if Alegri was the man coming in. It would also help to cause a massive flurry of bets on LVG to Man UTD.
