Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Madrid want to pay 20M€ (only) now, and the rest over six years hahahaha fudge off Perez were not Littlewoods catalogue

Re: Gareth Bale

A response to Naija's post insisting a buy back clause is included in the deal.

No I mean what's the buy back clause all about? I thought you were saying we can only get Lamela if there is a £90m buy back clause?

Edit: sorry completely misunderstood. He was talking about bale. My bad

Re: Gareth Bale

What about Fischer from Ajax? Don't know anything about him but seen him mentioned and Ajax will sell.

Also seen numerous posts saying that Lamela will be as good and maybe even better than Bale now in a few years. Is he really that sort of player.

He's not a Bale type player. He isn't as fast or as powerful and relies more on his skill and creativity (he does also contribute in terms of goals too).. He' a fantastic player but will cost upwards of 30m (probably more with them knowing how much we're getting for bale).

Re: Gareth Bale

the type of player that i am hoping chaldi is but i dont think will be.

I'm thinking ......PUSH the mourinho formula.....fudging spray that brick all over the walls.

paulinho, sandro and dembele. Assuming paulinho can score like he did in the confeds cup...assuming he can be our lampard...then what i am personally looking for is a Juan Mata type player. A player that can play on the wing, inside forward AND in the hole. and i just dont mean a player that is said to be able to play in the hole just cause he is one that LIKES to drop deep and is attack minded (shudders at the keane years and people calling him creative) am talking about a guy that can actually pull strings from there.....but that guy needs to be able to command the wing as well.

i want a formation that will allow us to turn from 433 to 352 to 361 at the drop of a hat

the only sad thing is that i feel we need also not one but two new full backs......i think BAE is not attack minded enough and i think Walker is as thick as elephant's brick tbh. but that would be waaaaaay too much of an overhaul for one season.

i settle on a very dangerous winger that can play as an inside forward and be done with it....but i dont know...i still think we will be lacking quite a bit in the creative supply department.

Then there is the option to get a creative player in the hole outright...and move dembele to a wing forward position. could work...and provides an extra threat in the box as an attacker amongst other things

first option is my choice

know anyone we can get like that?

You should be happy then. I posted earlier in the summer that I believed, from everything I was seeing, that his dream was a 25 man squad which would see players strong, smart and fit enough to adjust and adapt to several systems per game. This is why when people talk about players like Townshend and Livermore (a player I have absolutely defended BTW) I think it's not about how good they are IN THEIR POSITIONS it's about how smart they are and whether they can adjust and adapt quickly. AVB is all about adjustment and delivery despite any hardships going on. look what he did for Bale as a player, something people were reluctant to admit even though it was evident before their very eyes.

No, i think Naija was saying 2 different things (first sentence about Lamela and the other sentence about Bale and a buy back clause).

Re: Gareth Bale

Where's Wookie D when you need him.

Galatasaray have been (according to reports) trying to bring Arda Turan back. I reckon we should have a look...

Generally plays on the left, has the ability to defend well - creative - unselfish and very experienced.

Re: Gareth Bale

What a £90m buy back clause? is there even a point?

Why would it by £90m? Set it at £40m and be done with it.

If he flops then we can get him back. If he doesn't why would he agree to leave Real Madrid anyway?

Arsenal's buy back for Fabregas is less than they sold him for.

Re: Gareth Bale

The sheer arrogance of Marca is absolutely infuriating!!!!!!

Not just the stories, but the way they are written and the language that is used.

They have an entire paper to fill with sports stories each day - its hardly surprising.

Am pleased that there any many/any comments coming out of Spurs at the moment as as soon as we start negotiating in public, he's off

What team would agree to pay a world record 90m and then agree to set a 40m buy back clause?

He's been a damn good player for Atletico so not sure why they would sell him.

Re: Gareth Bale

I know there's a load of stirring going on, but are there any fans out there who genuinely think he's going nowhere. Sadly it's just a matter of time isn't it? Sooner the better IMO. Casting a shadow

I wouldnt say its nailed on. Firstly, Levy is stubborn and has said that Bale is going nowhere, secondly they need to offer an acceptable price, third they need to offer a payments schedule which is acceptable and lastly it would need to be wrapped up in time for us to replace him.

I dont think its a foregone conclusion - Spurs are being very quiet and letting the days tick by

Re: Gareth Bale

Should add a poll to this thread see who thinks he will still be a Spurs player come 3rd September. Is this possible to do? I've seen it on other threads.

Re: Gareth Bale

I don't see the negative. A release clause means nothing if the player wants to stay at his club.

You might not see a negative but there's no way a team will agree to add a buy back clause that's less then half what they paid for. I'm also unsure if the gooners/Barca buy back clause for Fabregas is less then what they paid for him.

I'm sure, and so are the Gooners.

Why is there no way? You have yet to give me one good reason.
