Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

i don't think anyone wishes for bale to go.
but if he does - he is entitled to as only a few get chosen to play at RM - then having him go at a record bid is much better than how we saw modric/berbatov left us.

There is a least one in this thread that wants him gone, or at least that's what they say.

And yes, RM is clearly a step up, but last season for Bale wasn't a flash in the pan, he's obviously the real deal and I think will improve. Meaning that this isn't his only chance to go there. He'll be better next year and they will still be in for him... And, if he does improve, he'll be worth even more!

Give him an extra £30k a week, tell him we want him to be involved in creating and scoring a total 50 goals ad give him team mates, like Soldado, to help him achieve that. I think he's capable of that kind of influence, and if he is we'll be challenging the top 2.

Re: Gareth Bale

Everyone seems pretty tinkled off with RM and rightly so cos theyre ****s.

IF there was manure coming in with 80m would you take it? to tinkle off RM and show a true stance... or deny a PL team with having him.

im talking about next yr and not this yr.

I think Man U might struggle to make CL next season tbh.

Re: Gareth Bale

Actually I'm calm.

BT have him plastered all over the place.
He is on a massive billboard in time square.
He is EA Games FIFA 14 pin up boy, in a SPURS shirt.

He can't go. It's not just Spurs who'd be tinkled with him. Just wait a year win us the league and then go.

Re: Gareth Bale

I don't see him leaving this year and if he signs another contract then I dont see him leaving until 2015. Personally speaking, I wouldn't allow him to go until July 2015 regardless anyway. I think the 2 years he can give us with additional signings will be invaluable, especially if we qualify for the Champions League both years with all the extra revenue that brings. It also enhances our chance of wining some trophies in that time which also helps. It also helps attract the additional signings we need to compete as well as a big pull in terms of marketing and advertising which helps grow the fanbase globally as well as bring in extra capital.

Selling him even with a year left on his contract would probably still secure in the region of around £25m-£30m which is still a good fee considering we will have had his best years thus far with him turning 26 in 2015.

Before he goes, He needs to win some trophies. He has been an amazing talent for us but it would be a blemish of sorts on his record with us if he hadn't won some silverware. Bring home the Europa League this season and an FA Cup and for me his work is done and he goes off to Madrid with my blessing.

Re: Gareth Bale

And on the response of what if he breaks an ankle or leg and is out for 6 months? Well in some respects, all the better. It would put an abrupt end to Madrid's interest, certainly in the medium term and allow Bale to concentrate fully on his obligations at Tottenham although I have no doubt he is fully concentrated anyway.

Greg Stobart ‏@gstobart 3h
Joe Lewis is a billionaire & obsessed with stats/moneyball. He knows Bale's worth on and off the pitch - wasn't the same with Modric
Who owns his image rights? The club or his own representatives?

Re: Gareth Bale

Spain is bankrupt

yep the is even a big new airport there that is not even open, of course they are building more high speed rail lines but the EU or rather the British and German tax payer is paying for that. Mind you apparently youth unemployment is falling over there. Maybe they will even start allowing brits over there free access to theri health care system as the Spainish who come here get.

Re: Gareth Bale

What if he stays, breaks an ankle in September and is out for six months?

This clearly is a risk, although is an unlikely scenario. Personally, I've always felt Bale is injury prone (one of the reasons why I just don't understand why someone would pay £80m + for him). But these injuries are still a rarity.

I think Man U might struggle to make CL next season tbh.

I agree, actually. I don't fancy their start to the season and fancy a flutter on them to lose their first three (Cardiff A, Chelsea H, Liverpool A). I've gone for Chelsea-City-Arsenal and Chelsea-Arsenal-City trebles for top three next season, something like 80-1 each. I think you also get a much better price on naming the top four (not in order, City/Chelsea/Arsenal and for me Spurs) than betting on United NOT to make the top four.

Actually, bit of a tangent here but with or without Bale I think next year looks good for us. Everton will be much weaker without Moyes. Liverpool have to contend with no Suarez even if he stays (start of season). The expected title challengers all have new bosses. Arsenal are the only rivals who look like they will be clearly stronger, with few setbacks. So I think top five is very much ours to lose, and all it takes is one of those new bosses to have a shocker and we could be pushing one of those big boys out.

I probably would actually as i do not really hate man u i hate the london clubs arse and chelsea. As long as wellbeck was not involved in the deal i still have nightmares over frazer campbell.

Re: Gareth Bale

If we're cheating we mustn't be very good at it.

Nah Britain just caught up with the whole sports science thing or er cheating as i suspect it might really be.

If your a cyclign fan you will know that the doping doctors have very close links with Barcelona, so you might have something on the cheating thing of course the is the over top diving flimflam but it is here in england now as well.
