Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Only team I can see going big for him is Real Madrid.

Man Utd won't sign him and we simply won't sell to a rival in the same league, no way. Otherwise Modric would be at Chelsea right now and not at Real Madrid.
Barcelona simply don't need him.
Bayern will be spending big on Gotze and Lewandowski.

I just don't think Bale will leave to go Madrid, not yet anyway. I think he'll give us a year, two tops. If we was to finish 5th next year on something big like 75 points, then I could perhaps see him staying another year, I mean that really would be unlucky.

Re: Gareth Bale

Man Utd aren't our rival lol. If Rooney goes then who better to replace him than Bale?

Emirates Marketing Project will give us a blank cheque

Real Madrid will be in for him big time

Barca perhaps not but I think they know they need to adapt and change next season so it's a possibility

Bayern I don't think will be in for him after signing Goetze but you never know

Chelsea I don't think will be in for him either, although they do seem to be intent on being able to field an entire side of attacking midfielders

No they're not, but neither were Chelsea but it didn't stop Levy from not allowing Modric to sign for them.

A striker?

Proof?

Real Madrid will be in for him big time
Hence 'Only team I can see going big for him is Real Madrid.'

I sort of agree that they need to change something, give teams something different to worry about but that'll be Tello.

Bayern I don't think will be in for him after signing Goetze but you never know
I doubt it, Pep is a fan though I believe.

We won't sell to a Prem side.

Re: Gareth Bale

They also paid 37m Euros for Goetze and are likely to also Lewandowski. They ahve clout but buying Bale as well, would probabaly be too much even for them

They spent over £70m this season on three players. Lewandowski is likely to go for a relatively low fee for someone so good as his contract is up next summer.

He wont go to Bayern. Happy to bet on that (and this coming from somebody who got SERIOUSLY burned making a bet with my Gooner brother that R-Sol wouldn't join Arsenal......)

Dunno If I would bet on it, but they are the best team in Europe at the moment so I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to go there.

I really think we're kidding ourselves if we think he'd say no to some of the clubs that have been mentioned. The only way I think he stays is if Levy decides he wants to dig his heels in again and not let Bale leave like he did with Modric in 2011.

Unless he's as two-faced as R-Sol I cannot see that he wouldn't stay another year from his quotes earlier in the thread at the end of the match. I think he has seen how AVB has improved his game, improved the team's resilience and also feels he can give it one more try. Perhaps he's also heard of who we may be targettting in the summer as well. Anyway, Levy dug his heels in over Modri and can do so again with Bale.

I agree, but it's not just about him saying yes or no if given the option.

In my opinion, for him to leave one of two things must happen.

1. Bale insists on a move and throws a Modric-esque tantrum forcing Levy to lower his asking price.

2. Someone offers silly money, the kind of money that makes Levy think that the money will allow him and AVB to make the club better overall than if we keep Bale.

I think both are unlikely at this point in time.

Re: Gareth Bale

I cannot see Bale wanting to play for Moyes; Moyes is a rpven undertaker for attacking players; Watch how many 1-0s United have next season

Re: Gareth Bale

People are going a bit overboard with this Moyes thing. Yes obviously Ferguson was a big draw but Man Utd is still Man utd, one of the biggest clubs in the world, huge wages, excellent players, huge stadium and competing for all trophies every season.

When Man Utd come in for players now, players aren't going to say 'yeah, thanks but no thanks. Rather not play under Moyes actually.'

You don't think playing under one of the most successful managers of all time will have significantly more pull than playing under a manager who hasn't won anything of significance?
