*** Tottenham Hotspur FC vs South Coast Big Club OMT ***

Not buying the hate against AVB.

You're mistaking not making excuses for every negative results/performances as hate.

AVB has perfected the way we play away from home. He has constructed a system that is perfect for away games and he deserves credit for that. He also deserves credit for guiding us to 65 points at this stage of the season which is a very good achievement.

That being said, our home performances this season as a whole have been shocking. I do not remember a season where the opposition have been the better team at the Lane for the majority of the season. We're extremely lucky we've been blessed with our first real world class player since Jurgen.

Personally I think KD has a point. As does the poster, think it was Armchair Expert who questioned how Pochettino had managed to form more of a cohesive unit than AVB in less time. I really like AVB but he certainly isn't coming across as a master tactician. From earlier interviews he talked more of the psychological side to the game.

Yeah AVB is gash...he has had no input into what has been a decent season for us.

Never seen any Spurs fan so angry after a crucial win.
Very odd, maybe forcing your personal opinion on others is more important than a crucial win?

i'm just fed up with utter brick performances at home (usually against 'lesser' teams).

i then see red when a poster blames our utter brick performance on the referee throughout the match thread...before being so so so so so quick to attach AVB to the success of a world class player that saved our asses yet again.

Only takes one shot to score a goal and win a game.

I've seen us have 30 odd attempts and not get 3 pts, means fudge all.

very good point actually

still, would be nice to see us play more cohesively though

good win today.

dont care how we play if we end up winning and we did. 3 points was the most important thing today and we got it. Onwards and upwards, Chelsea next.

I just don't know what fudgenig fans want or expect from us. Now we haven't been great, but we have ATROCIOUS ATROCIOUS strikers; we havne't replaced modric or VDV; Sandro missed half the season, Parker missed half the season and he isn't a patch on who he was last year. We are MUCH MUCH weaker than last year, but look more solid than I remember ever supporting spurs; we're not as exciting consistently before; but I have no doubt we will when we get the players in/ We are 4th. We could easily get champions league, and people still moan.

UNBELIEVABLE!!

Kyle Walker has improved defensivley this season? the man that has made countless errors that has cost us game after game is now a better defender than the Kyle Walker that won the PFA young player of the year?

Do you also agree that Scott Parker hasn't regressed? Ade has regressed because he's on a permanent contract and nothing else? and BAE has regressed because he does't have Bale as an 'out ball' anymore?

Scaramanga can you explain why you credited AVB for Parkers improvement in making forward passes but solely put the blame on Parker when things go bad? Scaramanga can you explain why you're hell bent on attaching AVB to Bale's success but are so quick to make reasons for the players who have performed poorly?

Kyle Walker won young player of the year for his pace running at people down the wing, it had a minimal amount to do with his defending. Cost us game after game? Don't make me laugh.

Parker? I think he was better defensively last season. I'm not sure how much it has to do with AVB, he's lost half a yard of pace in my mind.

Ade, there are more reasons than the permanent contract, but i've pointed them all about before.

Bae i can't tell. I don't think it's Bale though. Bale was moving inside last season and Bae coped alright with it.

Pochettino hasn't had to integrate new players, he hasn't inherited a side that has lost the heart of their team. All he's done is take Adkins tactics and get his players to press a bit more.

They certainly played with more cohesion than us today. My problem is of late we look so ragged, and aren't working as a unit

The strikers at the club are not very good. Defoe and Adybayor are not team players for differing reasons. One is in it for personal glory , the other plays purely for the contract. We need to ship these two out in the summer and replace them with two buys and bring on a youngster from our reserves into the squad. I do believe that if we sort this out we will then see a better all round level of home performance. Also for next season I'd like to see Caulker given more game time.

And therein lies the problem with the modern football fan.

May I politely suggest you go read some quotes by one (Sir) Bill Nicholson, and see what he has to say about playing the game?

He hasn't just got them to press more, they have changed their philosophy. And the team he took over contained players like Steven Davis.

As far as AVB is concerned, he never had access to Modric and got rid of VdV - so AVB never had the heart of his team ripped out. Its not an analogous argument.

They really haven't changed their philosophy at all.

He never had access to them no, but he had to buy their replacements and integrate them into a squad that did not contain the new players to begin with.

They are completely different situations, to compare them is utterly pointless.

nothing wrong with it. Its like some people like to moan and not enjoy a win, trying to pick every little problem and be negative about the littlest of things.

Southampton have integrated Ramirez, Yoshida, Rodriguez, Clyne, Davis and a few others to their team this season after promotion. Adkins started it, Pinocchio has continued it. Overall they look and have looked more cohesive than we have done for most of the season
