*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Panathinaikos OMT ***

AVB ON PANATHINAIKOS...

Andre Villas-Boas had the final word on our win at United by declaring: “We don’t stop here.”

Panathinaikos are very much on the radar now as Andre prepares the squad for our second match in Group J of the Europa League in Athens on Thursday.

The players will fly out to Greece full of confidence after Saturday’s outstanding display and 3-2 victory at Old Trafford.

“We feel confident now and our form has been impressive,” said Andre.

“We don’t stop here though. We have to improve our home form as well and we have to focus on that to make sure we continue this sequence.

“We now go to Panathinaikos and we are missing one match to complete the series (of away matches at Carlisle, United and Panathinaikos). It will be important to get the win there to put us back on track in the group stage of the Europa League.”

Its funny really I suppose our form has been good but it just doesnt 'feel' like it has been that good. the performances have not been great aside from perhaps Reading and of course the first half against man u. Under harry when we played well, we really played well if you know what i mean. perhaps we AVB we will get more of the kinds of victories that aren't necessarily free flowing football but still positive results. It just feels like we are close to a really bad loss but I hope I wrong.

Judging by his comments i think we will see a strong line up, but he needs to rest some players i think. its early still in the season and we have a few injuries so good opportunity to rotate. i know he is keen on the europa but still dont think we should risk too much on it

players that need to play: lloris, dempsey, siggy, townsend, thudd
players that need to rest: gallas, walker (busy summer), bale

the rest? pretty much don't care as long as we send a team to win, not just for training/exposure.
happy for AVB to rejig the team to try something new e.g. 4-6-0, 4-2-4 ... to make use of all the midifielders we have, and to preserve/rest the attack/defence where we are short.

What did Walker do this summer?

He's back!

What did Walker do this summer?

i was thinking he had to nurse an injury and then suddenly step up quickly to AVB's training and England team call ups.
he doesn't look as fit as last season to me, both physically and mentally.

where is this from? would love to see ade back in the team and banging in the goals. can be a real threat on his day. i dont see why him and defoe couldnt play together

It's from the previous page of this thread. Taken in training yesterday according to @SpursOfficial.

I thought we were very good against Saudi Sportswashing Machine and unlucky with the result.

Talksport just now-Greek journalist says Pan are poor and near bottom of league and expects 2 or 3 goal Spurs victory.

Tottenham Hotspur @SpursOfficial

First from @clint_dempsey "Everyone is excited (after the #MUFC result) we are on a good run of form. We want to keep it going."
"We want to go as far as we can and take every fans as it comes. We want to do well in every competition"
"Lot of quality in this team. You have to work hard and take chances when you get minutes in the team."

Now we have Andre's quotes: "Panathinaikos are a big Club, I expect them to play at maximum against us and raise their game."
"No new injuries, Jake and Naughton should be ready after internationals. Ade not ready, has only trained once"
"Our main objective is to win the competition. The Europa League is a hard competition to win with a lot of tradition."
