Randal Kolo Muani

After the Bournemouth game we cannot play Johnson especially not in a game against the Caravan Club
Odobert needs to be playing more... otherwise, we should've loaned him out or sold him. I think, and hope, we will see him improve this year, on the condition that he can actually have a chance to develop.
IMO, RKM should be starting up front as that's where we will see the biggest improvement in the team, but Simons has probably been promised to be deployed as a central attacking midfielder most of the time. We have options on the left and I think having Simons behind Kolo Muani will cause teams headaches, provided the rest of our midfield and FBs can perform the job of controlling the ball/possession.

Odobert needs to show and end product
That is his he will get his chance

I think we should have loaned Odobert out to a Championship club. That we didn’t suggests that Thomas Frank believes that Odobert will be getting regular starts and it will serve his development better staying with us.

It will, I hope
But he hasn’t shown much in reality

I think Odo has gone through that horrible cycle of having a major hamstring injury (plus surgery) and learning to trust his body again. He is listed as missing 36 games through injury. It's practically impossible to find top form for a while after what he has been through. It's the reality of these soft tissue injuries. We just need to hope that injury doesn't re-occur and we have another Sess or Dele on our hands.

I actually need to see more of him. He's only had 1000 mins of football in a Spurs shirt so far. It's not really enough to judge him alongside the major injury he had. I think I've missed most those mins as well.

So when he does get a chance he has to take it
So far, that’s not been the case

I would argue that he has been given far too few chances, he was injured for a good while last season, didn't get a lot of chances as a starter. He's young, clearly very talented, he probably lacks a bit of confidence.

Its easy to say in hindsight, of course, but he should've started against Bournemouth. I hope Frank pulls Johnson off earlier in games where he's clearly not of much use and we need someone able to challenge a man (or at least the threat of it) to not just be a limp down one of our flanks.

Could have started anyone wide against Bournemouth and it wouldn’t make any difference because the issue was much further back
No ball progression anywhere
And unless we find a magic way to replace Johnson’s goals, it’s why he starts today

Muani is a more potent finisher than Richy and Solanke, so that might free us up to pair Kudus and Odobert on the flanks more

It is likely we may see Richy left and kolo CF
I don’t think we will start a left wing who hasn’t shown anything of note so far
Odobert and Kudus are not prolific scorers playing wide although we know Kudus has had big numbers in the past

Well we've negated Hammers left side threat by buying Kudus. That's one tick in the box. Now we need to constrain Bowen on the other side.

We also have games on Saturday and Tuesday so this is where we see how Frank uses the squad.

Personally I'd like to see a Muani, Simons, Sarr, Kudus combo ahead of one of Bents/Pal and Bergval in the Hammers game. I think we need to try and get 60 mins out of Udogie as well if he's fit enough yet. Then we see after the international break which one of Spence or Porro is fresh to play.
