The player is obligated under contract to go on the tour.

If he didn't he would be breaching his contract and Forest could hit him financially.

It's pre-season and he is returning to fitness, in a January window he would be fit.

Above all he is being professional and making every effort to honour his contract, showing willing, and this means that Forest can't pull him up on any contractual issue.

If the deal is over we would move on to another target, it's obvious the deal is very much on, and we may be waiting to iron out an agreement with Forest.

It’s also Portugal. He’s a 2 hour flight away from London if he needs to come back for the medical (which going by all the ITKs has already happened at least 3 times anyway).
Of course we don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes but if talks/negotiations are ongoing I don’t think Nuno is going to risk him too much. MGW keeps building his match fitness whilst the contract technicalities go on in the background. If at some point he has to force the matter, he’s still the good guy as he didn’t strike or throw his toys out of the pram.

Also if true, would indicate we've done nothing wrong and they are just butt hurt and trying to get a higher fee

Also suggests he's turned down a new deal

Yeah, their fans don’t exactly seem thrilled. “We could do it just to fudge up Levy” and stuff like that. They need to sell a few CMs for it to make sense.
 
If MGW moves to another club, I expect Spurs to identity another player. Has Arsenal completed Eze's transfer? That is another option.

How can you previously agree terms without contacting the player or their representatives already? Are Forest setting up a deal in order to catch another team guilty of tapping up? Perhaps this is Maranakis’ one man mission to clean up football. The hero we didn’t know we needed

Its probably bourne out of Forest trying to hawk him around to other clubs based on Forest ITK that Forest are resigned to him going but owner adamant he doesnt want to sell to us
