I’d prefer the democrats just get their act together and move back somewhat towards the middle. And go for someone left of centre and not far left like AOC.
AOC being considered far left in the US is nuts to me. And you are right Jurgen. She is that in the US. I don't mind her personally as I love Bernie but the US seems like it still isn't ready for a female at the helm. Scary tbh.
Mamdani shows what can be done or how you can resonate with people. Whether that can be stretched outside of the cities is another matter.AOC being considered far left in the US is nuts to me. I posted a video a while back (maybe a different thread) that showed that your ideals and beliefs could remain the same but where you landed on the current left to right political spectrum would have changedAlthough, to be fair, it’s getting that way here in the UK too.
Labour and the Liberal Democrat’s in the centre, Tories on the right, hanging onto the Reform coattails.
Good old GDP ....making lives better.
Well they taxed us more than any govt in post-war history (except the current one) so I'd say they were way too far to the left in economic terms. After that many years of Tories running the country. Must be the because the Tories were left wing nutters for over a decade! Or we blame your disastrous Brexit. Or is it covid?

You'd have to watch it....to get the essence of what I'm saying. There was no pandering going onI’m not sure about that, I think it’s just pandering to those who have gone extreme and not calling them out on it
