A settled DoF?!?

Frank will have a hell of a lot more pressure here, also a fanbase with way less patience than Brentford’s - especially if non exciting football is served up, and he’ll also have a chairman who isn’t renowned for getting in players early to help the manager.

I suspect Frank will be on message in terms of prioritising 4th/5th over a trophy and also won’t be too demanding in terms of new signings so that will appeal to our Chairman. That gives him a chance of lasting a couple of years I suppose (although it didn’t help Nuno).

How long has paratici been working for us? 4 years?

Frank plays insipid football
It's pretty clear you've never watched Brentford play, perhaps besides the times vs Spurs. They are pretty well rounded in their approach, mixing it up between playing out short and long, and their attacking play is pretty good. He also changes tactic and formation based on how the opponent plays, changing between 3-5-2, 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1.
There is no way to measure how good a manager is. They're all good at this level. It's about if it all "clicks" or not, and that's impossible to know beforehand.

Ok well it's looking nailed on now and I'll obviously back him should it happen but whenever I've seen them (and yes it's mostly been vs Spurs) I've not been massively impressed.

If we fired Ange to hire Frank then we are real dumb and deserve to be made fun of.

Thomas Frank is still not the answer.

He didn't agree with some of the fans' approach. However if there is one manager who stood up for Spurs consistently and at a level spoke my mind - it was Ange. He pointed out the inconsistencies in reporting. He was ridiculed by some. I would rather back such a manager who does that than smiling with idiots who were attempting to stick a knife in the club's back.

Once more, fvck the English media.
And this.

'Allow'? Please. It's a fudging forum, I can't 'disallow' anything! You, however, do not, in fact anyone saying anything remotely positive about Postecoglu or winning the Europa League comes under ridicule from you.
Not at all I said on here we'll done to Ange for beating the worst man u side in living memory to win the Europa league.

The were lots of people backing him, still oddly backing him even though we finished 17th.

The Arsenal fan at work said he thought we had a better season then them because we won something.

I don't think we came remotely close to theirs. They finished 2nd and lost to the eventual winners of the champs league.

Though it's lovely to see you acknowledge other people have different opinions.

For the record if the new man or woman be they young/old black/white/Asian straight gay or trans lose 22 fcuking games in a season they also will get derision from me. I care not for the colour or nationality or gender but just to be a competent football coach.

No matter what happens and who is in charge next year we are on to a pasting …. Can’t win either way unless the new man comes in and does the impossible.

I’d just suggest to get behind the manager and see how it goes. It’s not like we are equipped with a team that will win the CL or league which is unrealistic.

As for the playing good football give it a rest, give me a manager who is tactically astute and can win 1-0 all day every day.

This myth of playing the spurs way is dog brick … times have moved on we need more than two magicians in the pitch to do anything significant.

I think you are being unfair. There is no manager with the injuries last season and competing on multiple fronts that will get top 4. Also it seems we are different, I will take a trophy over top 4. You also seem to be overestimating the squad based on what you see now.

Unfortunately the logic ship sailed for many a long time ago with regards to circumstances and what potentially caused them.

Yep, it's about winning games, not just in one competition, but in all competitions. It's about using the players you have, not using them to play the formations you want. It's about sussing out the opponent and laying down the tactics to challenge their strengths. Ange has done none of this, he simply has a method, and if that doesn't work we get beat. We won a trophy based on beating Frankfurt, and a very poor Utd team by a scuffed goal by Johnson, and despite what the romantics may think that ISN'T a good season

I think it was harsh sacking Ange now, but none of us can say that Frank is more or less of a manager than Ange. Categorically saying Frank won't do this or will do that, really is stupid. It might be a perfect match, and it might not. No one can know that until it actually happens.

I've got an open mind, and will back any manager initially. I know Frank is a very competent football manager, and one thing I'm 99% sure of, is that we won't concede 65 goals next season, nor will we lose 22 games. That would probably be the case with Ange too, but I can understand why he won't be allowed to show it. I'd like to have him another season, but there we go. It is what it is.

This is certainly the path of least resistance, the common sense approach, and the healthiest way forward - agreed.
I will certainly move on once someone is shoved into the hot-seat.

Never said what he will do or not, my opinion is i do not like his game and because of that i really do not want him here. IF he gets given the job i will support him just like every manager since i started watching.

If you’ve never been Levy out before, switching to that over what is clearly a very difficult decision is a tad strange. I’ve wanted Ange gone for a year or more, but I would have largely understood the rationale to keep him should that have been the choice.
Youre probably not privy to my perspective, but I've got a 20 plus year association with this site, and have acted on a number of occasions as a link between the club and GG - less so these days since Paul (Scaramanga) took the site on, but still I've spoken to the club, mainly Donna Cullen for years. This has in the main made me someone who falls on the side of the owners, rather than being part of the levy out crowd, but increasingly in the last few years I've been becoming less supportive. The way Poch was treated, the ridiculous furloughing of staff during COVID, the dismissal of mourinho a week before a final, the stupidity in hiring Conte, who was never ever going to succeed without a bottomless pit of money, the way Nuno was brought in and cast aside, and the farce of going through 5 candidates til we got to Ange, all point to someone who might be great at business, but bizarly after 25 years still doesn't get the sport.

I tolerated all of that, but right now the anger I feel towards our chairman for sacking the guy who just won our first trophy in 17 years in a season where 85% of the first team squad has been injured for more than 2 months, most at the same time, isn't dissipating.

Ange did what Jose, Conte and Poch failed to do. What Hoddle and Redknapp and Villas Boas failed to achieve. And Daniel booted him to the curb, in doing so making us the laughing stock of football, and the pin up boys for the money over success modern ethos.

I am about glory and we had it and it's been tarnished and taken away from us.
