Dejan Kulusevski

And the runner gets to face the goal
Sounds simple but it how lampard got so many goals
The goal doesn’t move
A striker plays it differently and they play plenty with their back to the goal
Actually, Maddison has had a few moments running down the byline and making some great assists from there. Ideally, we can have Kulu doing that more so Maddison can be the runner onto the cutback. I think it's one of the best ways to beat a packed defense: just hit a low, hard cross in and anyone touching it can cause danger, like Matip did.

Exactly.

This is what we needed to do when Pool were packed in.

We finally did it in the final second and it paid off.

The other option are long shots. Even though its rare it goes in, what can happen is a deflection. Woolwich get so many goals just hitting it from distance and hoping and often getting a lucky deflection.

Agreed.
It was interesting that Maddison took a corner on our right... then had to run across the crowded box to take one on our left... then was running back across the crowded box to take one on our right, when Deki took a quick short corner to him; thus Maddison appeared unmarked, surprising everyone. It was a great tactic/bit of quick thinking to release Maddison unmarked in that way.

They do
They spanked the ball across goal and have got lucky so far

That seems the way that we keep trying for. I think we need to mix it up with rolling the ball across at the edge of the penalty box once the defence is pegged back. Porro, Romero, Son...ample shooters available.

Porro must be due a goal soon. We need him to join the goalscorers party as everyone will need to chip in if we are to succeed going forwards. He can’t just rely on goal scoring hero Romero.

Another good performance. Getting separation, keeping the ball. Still a little bit missing from his best, but getting there. And a good performance against a low/mid block opponent where we had a lot of the ball. Very encouraging.

Think he's, in general, been poor. Offered very little tonight, less than Richy who is getting slaughtered by some. Seems we have a load that can play LWF but lack competition for RWF.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to think he's off the boil. His end product is now an overhit left foot in swinger or he goes to the touch line and dances until he loses the ball. He's not breaking with the same pace and determination as he had when he signed and his goal and assist return has dried up. I doubt it will happen but Gil or Johnson should be given some time out there before long.

I think it’s ages system and the way it works
You have Kulu holding it wide and keeping the ball. His retention is key in helping us go forward
It also allows the FBs to come central as they know he isn’t losing it
But , it means other parts of his game are sacrificed

Kulu holds onto the ball far too long, when he does little give and goes we break quicker but he decides to run into dead ends and then loses the ball.
