*** OMT - should we even bother ? ***

Didn’t see the game. Just watching the goals. The first…how the fudge does their lad get that much space in midfield? Criminal. And Davies? If you’re showing him outside, don’t let him come inside.

The second? Davies. fudge me.

The third? Skipp? Jesus wept.

fudge off Tottenham.

I am just totally numb watching a game these days. VAR hasnt helped either. I feel I cant celebrate a goal when it goes in, and I dont get annoyed on the outside when the opposition score, just end up typing ffs and moaning on here

Similar to lots of us. It comes from having 4 years of mind numbingly boring football

Its why we need a manager who plays attacking football in and soon!

Totally expected result.
After the initial build-up positivity you then realise we're playing against an organised, good side.
Did ok first half and Kane scored a free kick! but the atmosphere was flat and the whole vibe was of 'just end the season now'.

You know, if you lose play attacking football you can, reulcutantly, live with it, because at least you have been entertained. But when the football is dire and you are losing week-in, week-out it's depressing.
To be honest I have not even enjoyed some of the wins we have scraped because the football has been that bad

Davies is usually reliable but was at fault for those 2 goals. Brentford found loads of space through our midfield the whole game, when I watch other teams the space just isn't there.

Got to say the way they played the ref there was so so weak
Not one to knock the officials but some of his decisions were terrible, the Skipp one where he rolled the top of the ball fairly in a challenge and the Mee 'header injury' where we had possession and he gave them the ball at the restart were 2 standout ones.

The final insult to top off a truly abysmal season. With one exception, I don’t think this squad has a pair of gonads between them and - if he leaves - are so gutless they could genuinely get relegated, such is the ease that all teams, poor average and excellent alike, slice through our ‘defence’ and score goals at will. Special mention to the bloke that put deafening music onto the PA before the ref had even blown the final whistle in order to drown out the booing. As for me, I couldn’t be arsed to boo. I just want to go home. Thank the good Lord I won’t have to come back here until at least august.

Most PL keepers save both of those though

We have a 6 foot 6, 35 year old who has no agility.

His attempt to save each of them was pathetic

See, I think the first half the only threat from Brentford came down our right-hand side.

I thought our midfield looked good. Lots went through Bissouma, and Kane was dropping deep and creating heaps of chances for runners. The second half that just stopped. I'm not sure if that is due to a change in formation for Brentford, or we just eased off, or we changed formation. But it was like a different bloody team.

I think that's why this game has made me so bloody angry, because in the first half I thought we'd turned a corner by going with the 4-2-3-1.

FROM THE GUARDIAN:

90+6 min: Tom emails in

Just confirming what I’ve just witnessed in case my tv set isn’t working:

  • Spurs have the ball

  • Brentford have a “head injury” following Ben Mee’s heading the ball

  • Referee stops game

  • Referee gives ball to Brentford

  • Brentford score
Anyone got any opinion on this?

referee was - as is standard in the PL - pretty awful. And I noticed this incident as it happened: poor even by PL ref standards. However, he’s not the reason we lost. I wish it was that simple.

Meh.
First half, Brentford were ATROCIOUS and we absolutely dominated them. They didn't force Forster into a save. They were awful. We ran hard and ran again. Danjuma was completely exhausted after 30 minutes.

Second half was completely the opposite, I guess we ran out of gas or something. Really weak.

I hate it when we attack but pause, cut back, pause and they get 73 men behind the ball, then we get surprised when they block all of our shots. Jeez.

Bissouma isn’t very good. I lost count of the times he was wrong side in just the first half alone.

Sat behind the goal (quite high) it looked like a very half @rsed naive press. Bissouma kept trying to join in which left Skipp with 2. Without an intense press from us they were able to work it to the free CM with ease.

The only thing that was positive its that Kane didnt cry and had his girls with him.. then its still hope! He cant leave without a real good bye
