** OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v AC Milan **

If there is a plan, shouldn't we be getting better over time, rather than worse?

At some things we are. Our passing is massively improved. Not all that long ago we couldn't escape a press. We can now hold the ball and work it through midfield. Part of our issue the past few games has been playing a possession game without the intricacy to make it count in the final third. Progress isn't linear either, you have ups and downs. Injuries etc.

No one, including Conte, believes we were the finished article. The defense undermines our attack. We lack ability down the flanks. We miss Bentancur and Sessengon even though he hasn't ignited either. Yet we were in the FA cup, CL and in the mix in the league. Not bad considering we have serious imbalances still.

We have a choice - scrap it all and start again. Or see the plan through. Both options have merit. But Conte isn't a brick manager, he has been off work, and still has work to be completed. He probably won't get a chance to complete it, with Levy forced by fans into bringing down the sword.
And I don't think we should scrap it as we have improved slightly with players.

Definitely, yet most that we do, or at least try to do comes from the flank. I still believe that letting Gil go was a mistake, though few could anticipate that Kulusevski would drop so suddenly.

Not convinced kulu has dropped that far tbh, he has three closing him out most of the time and usually only harry to hit in the box.

For a precious few months he was a revelation, could pass a man with ease, had great crosses and spotted openings through the defense like a prime Eriksen. Now he often overhits, dribbles himself into trouble and generally looks slower. Still a good player, mind.

When he first came, he would cut back on his left and shoot. He's not done that since he's come back from injury. I wonder why not...?

I think a lot of it is what's around him.
Like kane there's times when he will elevate those around him, and times when they drag him down to their level.
