Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

I wouldn’t return to work unless I was fit and ready
And if I only had 3 months left at work I wouldn’t return

Thing is with football, you return, but brick is not completed on day 1. You have to fix things, build confidence, coordinate players. You come back to work, but its not like you turn a switch as soon as you walk in the door.

Fact check. Conte took off Perisic and changed him. Would have played Danjuma at LWB myself instead of Royal (posted it at HT in the match thread). We are missing Sessengon, who would you have picked at LWB?
Fact check, I never said he didn't take Perisic off. He starts him too often though and he has done next to nothing all season, just like Son. I'd have gone with a back 4 and Davies at LB, but if insisting on playing with WBs then Davies at LWB with Sanchez, Romero and Lenglet starting as CBs.

So you'd send the team to Conte to get pep talks and train by his bed. Brilliant. I can see you have a clear grasp of this situation.
You would expect his tactics and standards if high enough to be met, I would suspect he has zoomed in to the squad at least once or twice in his time away, yes he might have been recovering from surgery that meant he was able to deal with the stress and strains of match days, but I would expect him to be able to conduct team calls in 2023.

He has an expensive back room staff too who I suspect take alot of training even when he is present, his brother is on the staff too, you expect some continuity to be met

No but he hasn’t had that switch turned on all season
He has been talking constantly as though the club is beneath him
He is a drain on the team

Ah yes, coaching via Zoom! Why aren't others using this method, while sunning themselves in the Bahamas?

The guys just toxic
Everything about him screams poison dwarf
His fake hair
His gravy tan
The way he spurs his words like he is slightlyyyy drunkkkk
If was as brave as people think he would jack himself

At the end of the day, football is a perception game, and footballers are sensitive to stories, narratives, and so on. Our sorry bunch of winless w*nkers especially.

Poch is beloved for a reason - he wanted to be here, he got us, he *is* us. And your coach wanting go be here, believing in the club, has to be a big motivator over someone who, for whatever reason, just does not want to be here anymore. It infuses energy into the fans, the players - the whole place.

Conte doesn't. His interview today was the end of it - 'I have a contract until June, maybe they will fire me.' His only hope was to commit, double down, offer to stay longer to fix this.

He remains as uncommitted as ever, and has signed his P45 as a result. Now it's a case of when he's sacked, not if.

Who said coaching? I would fully expect him to call him and host a players meeting in the clubs conference room though 100%....the horror of that expectation

That's a shame, mate
His performance is up for debate, his appearance is irrelevant
