OMT * Tottenham Hotspur v Preston *

He really was and he’s been a massive disappointment since he got here. Had a couple of decent spells and then regressed back to a lad who looks terrified to come out of his shell. I was almost expecting Bale-lite with him when he signed. He’s been nowhere near sadly.

Didn't he score 20 championship goals one season? From that you think confidence, attacking intent....has neither

Job well done. Was never going to be a stellar performance with the starting line-up but decent enough given Preston sat back so much first half (to be expected). We never really had to get out of third gear. Great that Sonny got 2 (not least because I missed the first :( ) and a good start for Danjuma. Loved his reaction to scoring and also to when he missed a ball played into him shortly after coming on. Have a feeling he could become a bit of a fan favourite over the next few months.

I have never seen stewards as slow as the Preston ones with the two pitch invaders. Assuming nothing was seen on tv but the second one was actually able to get one selfie with one of our players (I forget who) and I think almost a second with another. Whilst it was quite funny to watch, it isn’t actually funny at all of course if the person should have bad intentions.

Reminds me of Bergwijn. Hope that doesn't continue.

Bit quicker and more composed in front of goal from the clips I've seen

Stevie B doing on in the dutch league but not tearing it up. Early hattrick but then ok rather than great record since then bearing in mind the quality of opposition

Their record signing is higher than ours

And still spent less than us in the summer

just looked, this year they rank 7th in spending in the league from when their owners took over and that credits one window that was not under them as they took over in October after the window. This year they rank 11th spending

They have spent well but smart and combined with Howe doing an excellent job.

Point I am making is that despite me not being a fan of their owners, they have yet to go down the investing and spending billions on players, its all ben measured and considered at the moment.

They have brought a lot of players and elevated a poor side into a decent one
Next part is the hard part

They have signed players for key positions and joined up the team with good cheaper options, as I have said before, Howe has done an outstanding job there

Jolelinton, Almiron, Wilson were all there before they came in, Howe done well bringing in the likes of Pope, Trips and Burn for relatively cheap and shored them up
