The all new Striker thread..

If you're willing to turn a blind eye on his dodgy injury record, Remy's a decent player and would probably fit in our wage structure. Dzeko and Tevez would be superb signings but look completely out of our range. Even Adebayor's doubtful at the moment. Personally, I'd take Berbatov back in a heartbeat but that's just me.

The most realistic options at the moment are probably players playing on the continent and willing to sacrifice a few quids to play in the Premier League, rather than end up at Malaga or Paris St Germain.

That would make Remy and Falcao good - albeit slightly underwhelming - choices.

Falcao, underwhelming?! Wow! Think you mean unrealistic. He's ridiculously good and would be ridiculously expensive !

No, it's just me as well!!! He's probably the ONLY one of the (too many) Spurs players to have left 'prematurely' that I would forgive and forget everything and welcome back... I KNOW he went on strike... I KNOW he sulked throughout the entire pre-season... but fudge me, Dimitar Berbatov & Van der Vaart just behind... with a rejuvenated Modric deciding to stay and supply the killer passes to Dimi... come on, who wouldn't want a piece of THAT pie?

Ade permanent, Tevez on loan plus one for the future in Castagnios

.......................Adebayor

..............Bale.................Tevez

......................Sigurdsson

...............Moutinho......Sandro

Ekotto....Vertonghen.....Kaboul......Walker

..........................Vorm

Thats better

Saw him play a few times and I've never been too impressed myself. There's no doubt that his stats are outstanding but there's something that doesn't do it for me. Then again, I never liked Henrik Larsson either so that probably says a lot more about me than Falcao ;)

Agree RE Falcao Mr G.

I understand his stats are (frankly) amazing. I understand he is very highly rated. I understand he would cost a fortune.

But, whenever Ive seen him play I just havent been particularly impressed. Not once.

Admitedly I havent watched a tremendous amount of him, but you just get an impression with players - and mine of him was always "meh"

You've changed over half the team that finished 4th!

Tevez(on loan) Moutinho (in for departing Modric) Sigurdsson (VDV looks to be on his way) Vertonghen (King and Gallas on their last legs, both could be let go soon) and Vorm (Friedel is over 40 years old)

Thats 4 permanent signings, all needed, and one loan signing, meaning 5 and that is not over half the team that finished 4th

I do think changes will have to be made and not for the sake of it. Enforced changes if all the rumours are true. i wouldnt say that warrants the unbelievably unrealistic comment

In what possible way does Vdv 'look to be on his way'?!?!? He's said that he's staying

Same thing here but I'm the first to admit I wouldn't mind those stats in a Spurs shirt...

Adebayor
Ricky Lambert

AVB will play a 4-3-3 so we only need 3 strikers and our fund should be spent on the midfield and defence.
