Except our penalty. I am a little confused how he convinced himself to award us that.
I didn’t see that, hard to tell from where I was sitting but even so it doesn’t justify anything as he gave them a penalty to compensate.

Zero point in playing a back three. It's purely to accommodate Trippier, and he does fudge all attacking wise. The one cross from the right was from Lamela's right foot.

3 at the back only works if you have world class wing backs otherwise it leaves you to narrow and invites the opposition onto you

Exactly. It worked when we had Walker and Rose at their peaks.

It just doesn't when we have the likes of Trippier and Davies in their place.

Three at the back gives the greatest responsibility in the whole system to the two full-backs, because they have the most space to cover - often alone. They need to be ace.

Ours are just a bit crap.

Doesn't show the Arse players running in from the other side though.

Our centre-halves were also playing at a higher level.

Vertonghen might have been a hero on the penalty, but his crap play led to them getting into our box in the first place. Sanchez has been poor this season and Toby has been middling, nothing great. Too many individual errors at the back this season, we could play 3, 4, 5 or 6 and it's the same sh1t. Sloppy.

What has happened to.........

1. Our pressing game
2. The accurate delivery from our full backs
3. Eriksen's creativity
4. Son's trickery and pace
5. Lamela and Moura's early season form
6. Our defensive solidity - we look very very shaky
7. Our offensive threat - we hardly look like scoring ATM
8. Our midfield's ability to pass
9. Our tactical co-ordination
10. Our substitutes ability to change games?

We are a mess at the moment from front to back. Our last three games have been, frankly, appalling. We need to get back to basics pronto.

Nice to see you positive about this, I must admit it's a refreshing change from the last few days. Hope you're well mate

I’m resigned to a struggle due to few options for Pochettino.
Still think he can surprise the opposition by being a little less predictable. But they will be like the Rose in midfield move, a curve ball.

It was quite obvious watching the replays as well.
Seems to be what they do on TV, let it run and stop the frame when it suits their narrative.
That's the offside/pen today and the one against Chelsea earlier in the season, there's clear light between the player and the ball so it's obviously moved a fair bit.

Utd currently losing, which is a bonus. Hopefully they only get a draw at the most. Just need Chelsea to throw in a sh1t performance then, they are more than capable of that.

If we can get over the line v Dortmund and get ourselves a result at Southampton, we'll be in good shape, despite the team really putting us through it at the moment!

Is the answer corners?
