Transfer Window Thread

Ha. My team in Fifa is basically Tottenham, with Andy Carroll supporting Kane up front.

Would be interesting to see it recreated in real life lol

For £2m could be worth a punt -- he has some talent but has always just been used in crap teams.

Moura will be fit for Chelsea and Dier's back now, so we've still got a top drawer 12 or 13.

This is true, but with 2-leg games coming up in both the Carabao Semi and Dortmund, we need bench options that can manage and adapt quickly to the changing landscape of those games.
We don't go into Thursday looking to win the game for example, as we perhaps usually would. Certainly not with our injury hit team. If we expose ourselves too much then Chelsea will easily pick us off.

A bit like Crouch I think he is a better footballer than he gets credit for, because of how tall he is/good in the air.

That said, I dont think he is good enough for us at all and I question his attitude/suitability to the group.

We have Llorente, who should be fine for now. We are left short for a few weeks, thats it. No need to buy.

Id also rather see someone like Sterling given the opportunity at this time than go and buy someone.

Son will be back for the Dortmund double header as well. It’s bare bones currently, but that’s what you have a squad of 22 players for.

If there’s someone good available then great, but these Rossi, Carroll, stop gaps are just not going to happen and nor should they.

Danny Murphy wrote a piece on this subject on the BBC website, nothing earth shattering, but just a common sense look at our situation.

I tend to subscribe to the idea that any moves we make now will be ones we had in the pipeline anyway.

Possibly for the summer, and brought forward as the opportunity arises.

I dont think we will be panic buying at all. The Sun linking us to Carroll is just hilarious, for example.

He is never fit so its not really worth it even if he was like crouch anytime he challenges in the air its a foul against him and normally a yellow card.

this is not something we want.

Honestly forgot to even mention his sick note status, assumed it was a given!

Needless to say there is absolutely no danger of us trying to sign him.

GTFO. Maybe if Redknapp was still manager.

No he fudging well would not, he is never fudging fit. Why would a club experiencing the injury problems we are experiencing, go and buy a player as injury prone as him? So he is not good enough for West Ham but he is good enough for us? I would rather we continue with Llorente than bring in another waste of space.

He has scored 26 league goals for West Ham since he signed for them in summer 2013

Every bloody window Andy Carroll gets touted about - that says something in itself!!

Whether it's been an eventual big money move or just a load of speculation, he's always in the news this time of year. It's just column inches - and small ones at that!!

Let's move on.

There are very few things that could turn me against Poch. Getting relegated? Probably. It turns out he's some sort of criminal deviant pervert? Possibly although I'd probably find an excuse. He's a closet Arsenal fan? Ah, I made excuses for Harry so I'll do likewise for Poch.

But if Andy f**king Carroll gets signed on Poch's watch, I want him marched out of Tottenham ASAP.

No one we sign now can play against Chelsea. You can't change you squad between two legs of the same tie

I don't think you are right - most papers are saying Wednesday is the deadline.

The EFL regulations read in Article 6.2.2 : "In the case of a Premier League Club, one who would be registered and eligible to participate in a Premier League match commencing at the same time and on the same date as the Competition match in accordance with the Premier League Rules, or would have been but for the operation of Premier League Rule U.1.1 (Squad List)."

That means that as long as Chelsea register the player by Wednesday at 12pm then he will be eligible to play in the game.

You can not sign a player between replays in the FA cup and play them,
