Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

I think we probably could get a sponsor but it may not be what Levy thinks the naming rights are worth. I feel like we may not necessarily get much better than this but Levy knows far more about business than me (and may be more optimistic about the team's prospects!) so I trust him with that.

Has there been official confirmation then that we won't be going in with a stadium sponsor for this season then?

It will be like Bentley and Gomes. He will ask for to much and get nothing.

It may be any one (or combination) of a number of factors
- no one offering enough (or no one suitable offering enough);
- wanting to wait until the superb stadium is up and running with all the resultant publicity- may entice more bidders or enhanced fees;
- gain more exposure through NFL;
- “Tottenham Hotspur Stadium” helps build the club brand (as opposed to media coverage referring to WHL or any new sponsor name);
- it helps with disassociation from the WHL name and maybe linked to the eventual renaming of a refurbished (WHL) stadium;
- it’s Nike and for whatever reason they want to wait until season 2 in the new stadium and as paymaster in chief, their will prevails.

Or maybe there's further things in the pipeline like an NFL franchise etc which would boost us even further. I'm happy with the name, would obviously prefer it was still called WHL but I doubt that was ever a realistic option.

Good point about the value for calling it Tottenham hotspur stadium dur the nfl to increase the value of the brand and encourage increased revenue with other partnerships

I'd definitely prefer us to be £15m a year poorer, and have a stadium called White Hart Lane. We'd only spend that money on a crap N'obody from the French league
That £15m also equals £288,500 a week in wages that may help us attract a WC player and keep some of our existing stars

Not sell our souls, or become

The NFL rent will make up for that amount it anyway

Naming rights held back a season which seems smart considering you need to preotect the brand.

So do we think the club are just not able to find a sponsorship deal atm or is there perhaps some logic behind opening a ground sponsor free and it's by design?

Im thinking much like r-u-s-x

When Ashley was reberanding St James all the talk was you get paid more if the stadium had never had another name as it is always associated Leicester is always Walkers

Great spot on the font though seems likely to be Nike

Surely it would be preferable to have the "opening" name of the stadium? Even if it later changes it will always have the legacy of being "The Nike Stadium" (for example).

Equally, if its originally "WHL MKII" then any further branding/naming would be devalued wouldnt it?

I think that you are right, I was one of the people banging on about renaming stadiums having less value than new ones. If everyone gets used to calling it WHL, then the naming rights will be worth less.
