Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

It's so funny. We've got a classic fourteenth century heraldic symbol as our current name, and people seem keen to pollute it with an evil corporation that practices child labour in the third world and produces tacky clothes the dregs of western society

Absolutely.

We could have been part of the child labour thing had we not been lucky enough to be born in this country. It is time we took a more human approach to workers in other parts of the world. I hope after Brexit when we strike trade deal with some of our commonwealth partners that we make sure improved employee working conditions is part of the deal.

Back to the Stadium, pleased they will have escalators I hate stairs they just annoy me and show me how the human race has not truly evolved yet. We should have a spiral walkway like in the Guggenheim in New York. That would look cool.

Here's how they get those cranes out:

Agreed, I'd rather not have anything by Nike at all, obviously, but it's the name of the game these days. If we're getting Nike as our stadium sponsor, "Nike Stadium" would be the lesser of all other possible evils. "Just Do It Stadium", hahaha.

What does it matter? I'm always going to say I'm going down the lane despite the fact I've always had to travel geographically north to it.

Could try saying I'm going up the Lane if it makes you more comfortable. Although people might think you're going on the Skywalk thing. What do we know about that, is it just a viewing platform on the roof, or is there a bar up there too?

The one on top of the 02 you can get a glass of champers. Waste of time if you ask me.

I'm sure you have had it pointed out before that Nike are now at the forefront of changing those practices:

Now, Nike finds itself more often at the top of lists for sustainable companies, particularly within its sector. It appears in the top ten of the Fortune Most Admired Companies list. Its commitment to improving its environmental impact, providing transparency about its processes, and ensuring decent working conditions in its supply chain, have turned the tide of public perception.

Now the company is more often to be found on the front foot when it comes to matters of integrity.

The company’s turnaround has become one of the success stories of corporate integrity in the last two decades.

The single tier stand can play tricks with perspective. Here it looks steeper than it probably is. But whichever way you look at it, it will be a massive stand, more than a third bigger than Bournemouth's entire stadium capacity! It will also give the stadium different areas (maybe allowing different supporting cultures) but an overall unique identity for Spurs.

Is this shot from around the centre circle?

And the Daily Mail doesn't actively endorse fascism anymore, because that became a bit of a faux pas. Just because Nike got caught so badly red handed, it's still evil to its core

I do worry when I see that sort of blanket judgement which leaves no room for the possibility of change/redemption or to take account of the power and choice of individuals.

Hugo Boss. Links with evil. Do you not own any clothing or wear an aftershave of theirs? Facebook, probably helping terrorists get away with posting and enciting hatred, but you probably post on there. Too many of us are quick to judge and preach when we are in fact being quite hypocritical ourselves.

Exactly I don't care about the history it's all cloak and dagger.

Get what you like

I used to, now loads of chavs wear it so I don't.

Clothing's different though - the bad guys always have the best outfits.

How can a company be evil?

Nike has over 70K employees - are they all evil? It has over 1400 shareholders - are they all evil?

Organisations always have cultures, an ethos. I'm sure everyone would agree that News Corp is evil, whereas the BBC is much less so. Size is often a good guide, the bigger an organisation the more detached from humanity it becomes.

Would you be happy called NWHL 'The Daily Mail Stadium'? Even if Paul Dacre and the Rothermeres promise to be really nice and cuddly in the future?

No - generally I support localism and only buy clothes that have labels on the inside (I actually think the concept of wearing another man's name on your chest or round your waist is strangely homoerotic)
