"Champions of 3rd place, we know what we are"

We fully deserve to be 2nd. ManUre as I stated before in stats thread are occupying wrong place. At best they are 4th best team in the league if not 5th or even 6th! Their expected goals for/against and xPoints digits are sh*t. Finally they rode their luck off a bit and lost to Saudi Sportswashing Machine while having several goal scoring chances. And de Gea didn't save them this time. And we could have seen such scenarios several times during this season.

Hopefully we'll finish 2nd and dippers 3rd.

Monday night at Palace for us next. We'll most likely be back in 5th by then.

Probably but we’ll be finishing second, so 5th is just a stopping off point between now and the end.

I’ve seen Chelsea’s fixtures, not looking good for them. 4 vs top six sides, games away to Swansea, Southampton & Saudi Sportswashing Machine (never easy games..at this point in the season especially), and two additional London derbies against Palace & West Ham. So I can’t see them even finishing in the top 4.

We have United-Chelsea, Arsenal-City (just days after they play each other in the Carabao cup final), City-Chelsea and United-Liverpool over the next few weeks. As long as we do our part...

We’ll end up second. No doubt in my mind. Best form in the league and with a fully fit squad. Wouldn’t surprise me if we picked up 28+ points from the 33 available.

And as for Arsenal. Surely their name should not be in the consideration unless they force themselves back in to it with form that would deserve recognition. And I can’t see that happening when they’ve only won three away games all season

They are completely written off of doing anything in the league this season now so will be able to play with no pressure - just how they like it, so if Liverpool run out of steam and Chelsea continue to implode i wouldn't be surprised to see a late flurry from them enough to sneak them in to the top 4

Pool won’t run out of steam

Chelsea could implode though and I still think United have got a disaster up there sleeve

Liverpool are so reliant on Salah now, Mane is playing out of form. They are a very open attacking side. They will always threaten goals. Its against teams that sit and dont let them use their pace they struggle against.

United are started to lose their early season form. They are there for the taking now. And Chelski. Well it cannot carry on like they are playing surely?

I can see us, the dippers in for sure and the last spot could be a lottery.

I was amazed to see United fielding the same starting 11 today that we beat easily 2-0. I thought they’d realised that that team doesn’t work. They are working on shoe horning Sanchez in to the team when they didn’t need him. Martial was excellent for them until Sanchez signed, now Martial has been moved to play out of position on the right. Lingard seems to be being carried by the team, he is capable of scoring goals but he doesn’t do much else. Lukaku isn’t having a good time of it either.

Then you have Pogba in the centre, who having picked up a knock then didn’t have a great game. Once again, he was played as one of two in midfield which doesn’t suit his game. Young at left back too is too much of a left midfielder in his positioning and skills.

Unless Mourinho gets the jigsaw pieces correctly fitted then they’re on for a poor end of season run.

A lot of people seem to be ignoring the fact that Liverpool have lost their most creative player by far and now have very ordinary midfielders - Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Milner, Oxlade-C.....zero creativity amongst the lot of them.

Also dont understand why anyone would want Liverpool to finish top 4 rather than Man U or cheatski. Man C, Man U and Cheatski all have financials resources way ahead of what we have, so will always be competitive for decent players. Arse and Liverpool are more similar to us (post new stadium) in terms of financials, so I'd much prefer those two to finish outside the top 4

Don’t think anyone on here wants Pool to finish top 4... I personally hate them but I still think they will

I think they will go out CL this round and only have the league to worry about

Firmino is a good player. But he likes to drop and assist. I think he needs a Mane or Salah to get on his flicks and passes. So id be interested to see what would happen if he lost his outlets.

My outlets do you mean his balls? He had them removed and is now preop looking at him

On current form, us and Liverpool fighting it out for second place seems a reasonable bet.

A lot can happen though, and while Chelski and Manure have slipped up recently, they're still up there. And we know we love a banana skin too, so I take nothing for granted. But we're in the mix and in form, so it will be an exciting end to the season - hopefully with us finishing second behind the Sergio Agüero Club.
