Yves Bissouma

Great energy and so important for us now. Could have scored today.
Also, I think he's got to drop deeper a bit more to help us move the ball up the pitch. His passing is actually quite good on top of his dribbling ability. Sarr might get there eventually but Bissouma is simply better at it.

Let's hope this guy bosses the game like he usually does at the Emirates....will be fascinating to watch how they plan to deal with him tbh. I also hope Bissouma doesn't overrun the ball after a dribble like he did a few times at Burnley, we'd get punished if so.
If he plays like he normally has this season i think they might really struggle to contain him without Partey

Had a bit of a rough first half I thought, but you just know in an instant he can turn it on. Some of his runs bringing the ball out from the back towards the end of the game were so good. What a player.

He did for the first 30
But that press was never gonna last from them

Does anyone know why he was gesticulating so much? He seemed really worked up whenever Vicario or sometimes our CBs had the ball.

Also, I agree with those saying he did take some time to get into the game but I don't think he was helped as our main outlet when building from the back. Yes, their press was very aggressive for much of the first half but it seemed like our outlets were too far upfield to help out the boys trying to pass it out. Of course, that was partly their game plan: pounce on slightly-sloppy passes from the back and try to intercept the ball or force errors in possession to win it back. Of course, giving it away in such dangerous areas was high-risk but in hindsight, it seemed like Ange's decision to play with cojones was vindicated. A few of our players did succumb to the press but we were lucky not to get scored on after those mistakes.

I guess I'm wondering if our FBs should drop a bit deeper when we're trying to build it from the back to give more passing options in midfield. I'd rather keep Maddison further up field instead of having him drop to help stitch things up, although the flipside is that he can play dangerous passes even from deep positions at times.

I think it was because he realise they were there for the taking if we gave him the ball
The way he throws a shoulder and the opposition part is magic to see

One small criticism, he needs to learn to release the ball half a second earlier. He gives opponents a chance to get blocks in. We got lucky with two or three yesterday that could have easily fallen better for them. Although the game was played with very little space for most of it yesterday.

I was thinking that too as he was being marked very tightly, sometimes double-marked. I just didn't know whether he wanted another CM to come help him out, or the FBs?
I love his feints as he's so good at selling them. He must be a real pain in the ass to play against, like Dembele was.
