Xavi Simons

A pity that ENIC didn’t follow Munn’s advice and upgrade our medical department with some full-time physios, so that this injury crisis didn’t stretch for over 2.5 season and quite probably be a significant factor in Spurs getting relegated.

Every other post about Scott Munn is how clueless he was.

Feel for the lad, another cursed player in our cursed era.

What's that now, 4 ACL injuries in 14 months?

More ACL injuries than home wins in that time?

Sadly I have little confidence in our current medical department getting to the bottom of it and hope that when Munn’s recommended overhaul finally takes place we might see fewer season ending injuries plaguing our squad; although (as Steff says) the lack of depth is another major hindrance what with the sheer number of fixtures nowadays and we might’ve have to play an extra 8 league games next season which’ll stretch what remains of our squad even further.

Given that they were seemingly allowing him to try to run off an ACL injury on Saturday I can't say that I'm full of confidence myself.

My eldest is in university studying to be a physio. He was telling me this morning that the Spurs' physio department came up this morning in conversations and not in a positive way. Their reputation is not good.

But, but, but...

Given you’ve obviously got the training, experience and knowledge, what’s the typical way you’d manage a potential ACL injury moments after it happened?

Munn got rid of the decent ones we had, and replaced them with Brighton's team (our current lot). At that point Brighton had the worst injury record in the league

It's crazy - multi million £ assets, but nothing in place to keep them in good shape.
It's like an F1 team going to KwikFit (or being Sauber)

Everyone can run a club better than those that are, its in the DNA. Never known a plasterer, painter or accountant who loves football who doesn't think it.

Ultimately Munn was here a year, any impact at that level wouldn't be felt or happen in that time.

No one really knows the man, loads now just peddling pre judgements before he took the job....after the event.

This could be a bit like Anges “I wanted to sign Guehi & Semenyo”

Forums would be boring if we all stuck closely to what we know for sure. How much weight you give an opinion is up to the person reading the post. But to complain about it seems pointless to me.

Fair enough. Forgive my skepticism -- for 18 months or so I read on here all about how Ange was at fault for the injuries. Blame is thrown around all over the place but I don't think there's a simple answer that a multibillion pound football team would miss and outsiders would pick up.
Multibillion pound companies often employ outside help to look at a situation they can't resolve. Usually they employ management consultants but fans on football forums might have a magic answer :grinning:

Agreed. There are some circumstances that a manager can cause the issues e.g. Rushing players back, but every manager does that. I still wonder if there is something underlying at our club to have so many ACLs and injuries as a whole.
Its rife in football now. Seen experts on podcasts say the increase in acceleration and deceleration in the game is a massive issue. Also where fatigue would drive limits on players those limits have gone through the roof with supplements and masking agents.

Not saying people cant have an opinion mate, for from it, but there is also clearly those that made their mind up before he came and are saying "told you so after". Without any real knowledge on what went on, thats just pointing out what I have seen.

Really interesting topic. Plus I imagine, worth a fortune if you can peddle a solution.
