do we even look at player stats before buying them? very sure by now that xavi was a panic buy and not well researched
xavi has NO speed - he is slower than every arsenal player on the pitch - including their entire defence

He was. Eze pulled out, Gibbs White was a prick. We needed something.

But he's definitely not suited to the PL. I'd rather play a kid. Donley would have contributed as much as Xavi has

Rebrov springs to mind... remember him? Bought solely because of his reputation, because of it, lots of people made excuse after excuse for his incompetence - until they could find none. Fear he will go the same way...

Rebrov’s problem was only Steve Carr was anywhere near as good as him.

He played instinctively and played repeated flicks and through balls to players who were mostly too dumb to even see the run.

Had he had better players around him we would have got more out of him.

He did have some incredible moments of quality though, and he never stopped working.

Take a look at this goal for instance. I haven't once seen movement and runs like this into the box from us. This is what's needed. Runs into the box!
If we had movement like this, Xavi would thrive!

I always thought that the truly good players made those around them better... and created magic out of nothing

Sorry guys... not buying it. Hopefully he will make me eat my words... but I have just had it with excuses for poor player performance
