World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

I’ve had to disagree. All of the top players have turned up. Been some high scoring, high drama games. The only thing I do not like is the hydration break.
Too many games made the front end too long and the standard dreadful. No doubt the stars have turned up and thats a plus, but some of the early stuff sent me to sleep, not just because of the time difference

Yes odd that snicko didn't pick it up if there was contact, also, the most common view replayed for this incident is from the spider cam itself, surely a ball smacking into one of its cables would have caused some camera wobble, which there is also no evidence of.
Yep, I find it hard to conclude either way, TBF. Norwegian players + managers furiously pointing to the wire after the goal, indicates there was a touch, though. Players often point and shout and complain after conceeding of course, but blaming a camera wire is not very common, to say the least.

Apparently Infantino has now suggested increasing the number of teams in the next WC to 64. There will soon be no point in actual qualifiers at this rate.

Absolutely, like I said, this stage has been great, the early stuff was an absolute snoozefest

I was worried about the number of games and the tournament being too big but I don’t think they smaller nations (Cape Verde, Doctor Congo) have disgraced themselves. I must admit I don’t think it’s right that you can finish 3rd in a group of 4 teams and still qualify. Just have 64 teams with half going through which still gives you a round of 32.

If the camera wobbled it would be pointless as every time it moved it would wobble.
It will be full of gyros and gizmos to smooth out any motion.
Not that I'm saying it did or didn’t hit the wire as I haven't seen it.

I’m sure it has all that yeah, but a football hitting one of its cables would have been more force than usual/expected so would have been a visible moment of compensation surely.

I’m surprised we’ve not had a proper replay yet, with all the HD camera in the stadium surely one of them is trained on the ball in perfect focus at all times.

If it was reaching its peak and losing momentum probably not.
Also, these cameras can move at a fair lick and will be exposed to all sorts of cross windsand they will need a really good dampening effect.

Well, England scored seconds later, when it was supposed to be a dropped ball, so it's pretty clear who benefitted. Very odd that it didn't register, though.
Neither team on the pitch knew it happened and neither side was set for it to to happen
So, IMO, no one gained
The fact England scored was because of what England did afterwards
If no goal had came from it, nothing would have even been mentioned

And that’s is weird
It clearly hits something
