Will we win a trophy this season?

We've got close in the last 3 seasons but seem to fall at the final/2nd to last hurdle.

Personally I think we need some more experienced players. Modric would be an unbelievable coup even at 33 as he's a proven winner. We've got plenty of young, up and coming talents. We just need some more streetwise winners who know how to get results when the going gets tough.

Poch to me is prioritising top 4 over trophies which I'm not necessarily criticising but it's frustrating when we get to semi finals and don't play a full strength side.

The League Cup is arguably the most winnable trophy as it's the fewest games.

I guess it would be easier to field a full strength side in the League Cup if we had a stronger squad.

I fear we may have a very slow start to our season with returning WC players needing rest and then being behind on fitness which will impact any challenge for the league title, but we have a good chance of a trophy in either cup again this season.

The odds would be against us winning something - 3rd favs at best for domestic trophies and way down the list for the CL. But if a few things fall in to place/run our way anything is possible

Our run in the FA Cup last season spookily mirrored England in the WC. The tournament seemed to be there for the taking despite some early hiccups, yet we both fell as soon as we came up against a useful side. We are unlikely to have such a favourable draw again.

I fear our chances of winning a trophy are diminishing. All our rivals are strengthening with top players while some of our team are reaching the end of their careers and will likely leave us soon - Toby, Moussa, and Danny for example. Will we replace with better? Unlikely imo.

Interestingly last time we won a league cup we beat the premier league runners up by 2 points and champions league finalists in the final, 3rd place in the prem by just two points more and cl quarter finalists over two legs, a team who finished above us away from home (city) and another prem team 2 has places below is. Arguably a tougher route than many fa cup winners! Oh and we finished 11th! I really hope we win something to get the monkey off our back but another season in the CL would be the first barometer of continuous improvement for me, especially with the adjustment of another home stadium that may well act as an inspiration to the visiting teams too and I expect them most Cup minutes of any team potentially hampering our run of away games at the start.
