VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

I went to a game without VAR yesterday.

Ref had a bit of shocker and had to be escorted off the pitch by security at the end. He only got a few things wrong imo, but by the end of it every decision against the home team was met with abuse.

There were a few “if we had VAR” comments.

People are never happy I guess.
Park football has always had arses in the crowd

One of the things i had to do when taking my coaching badges was do a ref course and then had to ref a few games. It was hell with all the abuse you get from players ( fat old beer bellied arseholes) and the funny thing was most of time did not understand the rules of the games .

Did anyone see the man U goal where the ref didn't blow for offside on rashford, who didn't touch the ball but followed it closely until Fernandes who came from a non offside position shot and scored?

How does the offside rule work.... Particularly when is the whistle blown and isn't there anything around interfering with play anymore?

The offside rule is back to where it was. Whatever benefits Manu.

Yes. Terrible.

Lots of chat on this in the PL thread.

Well Chelsea denied a goal/handball penalty today and var didn't seem to pick up at all.

Well at least more fans are begining to see what a load of crap it is. Someone has made money out of it though.
That requires either:

I. More officials. Probably one ref for each half of the pitch.
And/Or.
II. Football society remembering it's a sport and accepting human error from officials.

It's not perfect. But it's better than the amount of things that were missed before it existed.
The game is without doubt officiated more accurately now.
