People will still ridicule the idea of aliens, of course, but the evidence is become quite compelling.
I'm not invested either way, but I do find it weird how dismissive some people are of other forms of life....

I don't think people are, I think they are of the so called evidence that is served up. Well I am for sure.

There is no doubt in my mind there is life out there, there has to be, but are they visiting us or living among us? Hell no.

We live in a technology age with Ring door bells, HD phones, CCTV everywhere, dash cams and people literally on high power telescopes every day and no one has picked up anything that isn't 1960s looking grainy photos. If in this age there isn't one clear photo by chance or luck, at the very least, then I think the odds that we are being visited is slim to none.

The counter to your point is people want to believe so much they will see whatever they want to see, I know @WillWeEverBeGoodAgain is hugely invested in the idea and wants to believe, so he likely will regardless of the evidence. BTW thats not a dig, everyone needs an interest and its harmless..........

These species (and I appreciate it comes down to whether you believe or not) are meant to be far superior technologically so being able to track them or get a good image when they move a hell of a lot quicker than us would be difficult to say the least.

Why wouldn't other species visit us considering us humans are trying to do the very same thing to other planets?

But thats the great convenience of the argument isn't it? You have not seen them because........insert reason

How do we know, given the boundaries and limits of space travel and knowledge, how do we know what these species are and are not meant to be? There is nothing other than anecdotal theories about what others may or may not look like.

Its all very much IMO like the GHod theory, he exists because people say he exists rather than any real rational thought process behind it and a bunch of convenience behind the "why we have not seen anything of note"

I am not digging you or others out here BTW, I am just explaining my view

Because if you read the human history behind why we travel, its started as travel to explore, travel to trade and resulted in what we see now, travel to conquer, even our MO about Mars (if you can really believe its possible..........its not) is about conquer. I suspect if the other species travelled here we would have known just by the universal idea of conquer, I am sure they would have made it known at some point or maybe its my cynical thought process of the human race, but I just don't believe in the perfect storm story that they come here undetected because they are a super race and then leave, it just smacks of the creative side of the brain and the imagination factor that gave us films about it.

That's all fair, I'm not invested enough to make compelling arguments either way - I just don't find it unbelievable that other forms have visited earth, wherever there is currently clear picture evidence or not.

But I don't dismiss the idea that there hasnt been such interaction either, it's not a subject I've spent great time on and am always open to arguments on both sides...

I just have a very and maybe overly simplistic view on it, but I just think its like anything thats maybe too good to be true in that its laced with conveniences

Anyway, time for a Saturday Fry...............

Who’s to know exactly where these crafts are from, but they do display capabilities far far beyond anything humanity is even remotely close to creating. These aren’t drones or advanced helicopters. It’s something else entirely, and this according to highly ranked US Air Force and marine officials (as well as from similar from across the world). In addition there is the video footage released now by the American government, verifiably captured by military bases or military vehicles. Again, this is kind of «fear fear fear», but you’ll hear testimonies from these pilots and marine officers and whatnot, worth a watch.

I think we’re so ingrained in this belief that there can’t possibly be other lifeforms visiting us and have been since we were small it’s too hard to conceive of. Think of a civilization possibly thousands of years ahead of us - is it impossible that they could defy the laws of physics as we know them and come to visit us from wherever they may come from?
